The vibe from a few customers was unsettling, but I can't put that on the restaurant.
SERVICE (1 star for original waiter, 4 star for management): The waiter is the reason for the low rating. He was rushing us. Yes, we knew they closed at 10 and arrived at 9:10, but that doesn't excuse his service. The first thing out my mouth was that I wanted to order the seafood nachos. The rest of my party placed an order for boudin balls. We received boudin balls and a spinach artichoke dip, but no seafood nachos. We didn't even order the dip, but decided to keep it because...again...the waiter was rushing and we didn't want to be an inconvenience. The last straw was us trying to flag him down and having to clap and wave our hands to get noticed as he walked RIGHT past our table. If you're racist and upset you have a bald spot in the middle of your head, just say that. Don't ruin our time in Slidell with your negativity. The Assistant Manager and other staff went above and beyond to make it right. We felt comfortable and were satisfied by how apologetic they were, but still, the waiter himself was the issue.
FOOD (4 Star): The seafood nachos were very good and the fruit punch. Probably the only thing we'd order from them while in town. The boudin balls I didn't taste, but was told they were just ok. The dip was too soupy and thin, but good and the bowtie was different. My son loved them. The loaded seafood scampi was decent as well. It came with a crawfish (seasoned wonderfully) and a few shrimps, but barely any crab meat. I'd order the boiled crawfish and seafood nachos....
Read moreFlies dead in the window where they tried to seat us in a booth. Not a couple A LOT. The spinach and artichoke dip was more soup than dip. THE Crab Trap is not 2 filets of Catfish. It is all mixed together as a ball. Other half was disappointed. Steak was great. Oh my asked for salt and pepper and got little paper packets. Asked for extra butter for baked potato and got little bitty pat of butter. Almost felt like McDonald's. But McDonald's butter pat is bigger. By the time done buttering potato steak was cold. Bring your own butter and salt and pepper. Okay bring your own condiments. Because 1 meal said add a salad for 2 I got 1 side salad for 2.00 but paid 2.95 for one as add on with steak. Same Salad .95 more. Will I eat there again? UMMMM NO They replied with all Southern areas dealing with flies. They are right except for the fact none of the other restaurants didn't have dead flies covering the window sill. Sad part people eating with them and still sitting people there before they were cleaned away. As for the packets of salt, pepper and tint pat of butter no other restaurants, besides fast food has served them to me. Your right CDC guidelines are in place but restaurants of this price range wipe down everything after use. So your excuses are lame. Lazy people lose customers. As for the people eating very close to DEAD and live 🪰I can't see how you could put up with that. Nope Fatty's is not worth the money. Cleaner, nicer and better...
Read moreThe first time I went here with family on a Saturday, they were packed, the food was great, and our service was superb. I was really impressed. My husband and I went back for a date night on a weekday and the service was the worst we’ve ever received. All the waitresses kept hiding in the kitchen, hanging out. My gumbo was brought to me with half of it spilled onto the plate underneath the bowl. The person who brought it to me put it down and walked away without saying anything, and I wanted salt to season it. I waited until anyone came out onto the floor, more than fifteen minutes later, and my gumbo was cold by the time I could ask for salt. For over fifteen minutes, the waitresses and the hostess were all in the back hanging out and that happened multiple times that night. My husband also ordered an alcoholic beverage with his water/normal drink order and it came about ten minutes after our food came. He didn’t even want it anymore, but there was no worker in the whole restaurant to even cancel the drink. So we were charged for it still. There was two other tables, one of which had 15-20 elderly folks who were very drunk and kept screaming at the top of their lungs and making the atmosphere horrible. I couldn’t hear my husband talk across the table from me. Just terrible service. I guess the takeaway is go when they’re busy or on the weekend when the workers are forced to do their jobs, because on weekdays it’s social time for...
