Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Smithfield

Tonight my family and I went to dinner here. We have been here many times before and have always had a wonderful experience. I never leave reviews but I feel this needed to be heard. Tonight my son suddenly got sick and threw up (probably from being a typical kid and drinking his chocolate shake to fast) when I tell you from the moment this happened to the moment we walked out the door, the manager and our server were so attentive to the situation and very sympathetic. We have never had this happen before in a public setting so of course I was going through the emotions of being nervous, scared and feeling terrible for everyone involved. They came out with wet and dry towels and insisted to clear our bill, I insisted on paying it 3 times because frankly there was nothing wrong with the service or food. Everything was phenomenal as it always is, but the manager was more concerned for my son’s well being and hurrying to get him home. My husband tried to continue to clean up the throw up while I took my son out to the car and they insisted to not worry about it. When I tell you they care more about you and your family than you’ll ever realize. I went out to the car to clean my son up and walked back in to tip our amazing server $30. First I phoned the restaurant and had to get the address for the uber driver the manager answer on the first ring 🤯. That’s not heard of Then the uber finally delivered me to an establishment and I was seated as soon as I arrived . Am I dreaming !I sat with my brother at the bar seating Wich should I say Theresa Wich feels it’s her job. To make sure every customer is comfortable when seated a can enjoy an awesome menu! When seated I met Jacob the bartender. Smiling and happy to pour a double and to tell me the specials! We ended up doing some small talk a Phil the manager came up in the conversation. As how impressed I was with his service and the service of the stafff. Oooooo. There he was You wouldn’t believe Phil. Bringing my food an no I have never met him. But. He brought the food piping hot. And to say my phone was dying he literally moved counters an gave me a charger to help me with having. A charge on my phone! I. Have never. Wrote a review on any store or restaurant. But I was blown away. And. I came back being an out of towner. The first experience. Was just as great with Phil at the helm.

I am a first time mom with a newborn at home. My schedule is funny, my diet is messed up. 9/10/23 around 7:30pm, my stomach wasn’t feeling quite right, but I needed to eat. It felt like the perfect opportunity to order my favorite salad from Applebee’s on Postmates.

I don’t know if the cook was psychically connected to me in this moment and just KNEW what I needed, or if they just really love their job, but please give this individual my adoration and a bonus.

The details were all just perfectly extra. I’ve worked at Applebee’s in the past, though not this location (Smithfield, RI), and I know the general construction standard for this salad. What was delivered to me was an act of love, and act of God. The grilled chicken was cut into perfect bite sized pieces instead of long strips I would have to re-slice myself. The lettuce was perfectly chopped, so I didn’t have to go back in with my own knife on that. It was pre-mixed together so every bite was perfect.
