After ALL of the great experiences I've had at any- and even THIS particular Waffle House, I walked into those doors possibly for the very last time.
I was on my way to class at Johnston Community one morning, and stopped in for a quick breakfast. A young man was behind the counter, and promptly took my order. A young lady, EXTREMELY tethered to her pink-cased phone, seated on the stool I would have used, had she not been sitting there, was in uniform, but not into grilling any orders til her text was finished, and sent.
After the young man repeated my order to the young lady a THIRD time, she sent her text, tucked her phone into a pocket, and at about the same time, grabbed an egg to crack. She must have been a Marvel superhero, because with my 20/10 vision, considered excellent, I didn't see her step to the sink to wash her hands, but was watching her from the time she found a stopping point to even acknowledge the young man's call to duty. Then, she cracked a second egg. The amount of disgust that filled me...
I said, "Don't bother going any further with those. I'm not eating. Do you typically cook without washing your hands, after handling one of the dirtiest items on your person? I can't eat here." Not a bit of surprise on her face, which makes me think she's just filthy, period. I was immediately reminded of a joke told by a comedian, "...if the 'W' isn't lit, it just reads, 'AFFLE HOUSE...'" A shame, really.
I can see inside very clearly, and on my way to class, have seen this same young lady. Needless to say, the mere sight of her still ruins...
Read moreI visited this waffle House on the evening of February 10th 2020. The food was wonderful. The waitress was nice, however, she never refilled my glass, in fact after she brought my food she was more interested in a conversation with the cook about being too nice to people. I waited for about 10 to 15 minutes after I was done with my food before she finally brought my ticket. It was $9.71. I tipped $4.29 and made it an even $14. I walked out the door, and then returned inside because I had forgotten to ask for a drink to go. She then proceeded to charge me an extra $2.30, for this drink(sweet tea). I said all that to say this; Was she in the wrong? Her only wrong doing in all of this was that she was not very tentative. The fact that she charged me for the drink to go was only morally wrong. I believe if I was a waiter and someone tipped me over $4 on a $10 bill I would have been happy to give them a drink to go free of charge especially seeing as how I did not refill their drink one time during their stay. It's little things like keeping your glass full, and making sure you have everything you need that makes a good waiter/waitress. I hope that this message finds her, also I hope that she does not let it offend her too greatly. She was very nice to me otherwise and I believe that maybe this was just a fluke. Oh and before anyone ask, No they were not very...
Read moreWorst service and food!!!! My husband went to get us some food when he got off work this morning. He said they were all rude. The boy who wrote our order down, wrote it in marker, started the waffle and went to the restroom. The cook couldn’t even read it, She asked my husband what he ordered and she still got it wrong. The boy comes back from the restroom and of course the waffle is burnt so my husband asked him to make another one. Well he gets home wakes me up so we could eat together... We open our food containers I always get the hash brown bowl with sausage, eggs and cheese. What I got was maybe three bites of hasbrown, cheese and half a piece of sausage and no eggs... He opened his a container full of mostly raw hasbrown and raw onions. Bacon, sausage and what looked like a scrambled egg that had been sitting on the grill all night. Oh and his waffle was paper thin and mushy!! I wish I had taken pictures and posted them.. We will never go back to that Waffle House again. We will stick to the one on outlet center drive, great service and...
