The location in Smithfield, NC is surrounded by restaurants, shops, and the movie theater. So there is plenty to do. We were told the card on file ( to save the reservation) would not be charged. Once we went to check in the gentleman was told we would use another card (my daughter was going to pay for the room). He charged our card and hers. We were there due to a death in the family. The card that was used for the reservation had money on it food. Now we are in the negative and will be charged overdraft fees. It would be one thing if nothing had been said before hand. BUT it was TOLD to BOTH the person that made the reservation ( she even missed this up. We asked for Super 8 and she booked Baymont) and the person that was working at the hotel when we checked in. They are refunding the money to my husband, but again OVERDRAFT FEES are being charged for their mistake. It is going to take 5 to 7 business days to get the money back. So no food until it comes in. The room itself, the ceiling (popcorn ceiling) was flaking off and hanging down. The water would only go to warm even turning it all the way, no hot water. I am disabled and told them I could hardly walk. They put on the first floor in an handicapped room, but the beds are so high it was hard to get in. They were comfortable once I got in and plenty of room in the queen bed. But overall I was very...
Read moreDon't trust anything the Hotel Manager tells you about the rooms, This place is a dump! I had a conversation with manager Kelly Richardson about my reservation with Expedia and I was not happy with the room #214 I stayed in on December 4, 2018. Before I stayed in room 121 in the front of the hotel and that was a better room were no pets and no smoking are allowed. I explained to the Manager that I am allergic to dogs and Cats and that I can get sick, having breathing problems if staying in a room were pets had stayed. The manager guaranteed me that room 214 was ok. I paid in full $70.39 for ONE NIGHT STAY, reservation by EXPEDIA. Because I was tired from a 16 hour drive I decided to shower and go to sleep to leave the next morning for my ride to Boston. Well I started having breathing problems about 10:00 PM and could not find the Hotel Manager. Got so sick that I had to leave the hotel and started to do my driving to Boston.I will not recommend anybody to stay at this hotel, Baymont by Windham Hotels, In Smithfield North Carolina.! Any company like EXPEDIA
Read moreI've only been here for two hours, so maybe I'll update after my stay is done, but I do know I'm not coming back.
I'm still new to booking hotels and thought to ask the staff about prices. They were helpful and did what they could before recommending I just book through the 3rd party app I had. They said I could check in right then in the morning, but I had to pay twenty bucks since it was before three.
I decided not to but I didn't have as much to do beforehand as I thought so I tried to check in early but they suddenly claimed they didn't have the room I booked until three but could put me somewhere else until then. I wasn't sure if they were going to charge me for that other room so I had to wait in my car for three hours.
They never mentioned a hundred dollar deposit fee but were kind enough to waive it for me. It's only 25 bucks at Super 8 if you're a local. Apparently, people trash rooms here or something. I go to my room but smell weed on the way there. Ugh! Yeah, I'm not booking here again, and I don't like how the door isn't....you can clearly see the strip of daylight.. I don't feel safe here. One plus is I do like you just hold the keycard to the pad. So it's not a hassle like it was at super 8. And their TV here is much better....
