We travel often and often use inexpensive hotels. Before checking in, we carefully study all the reviews. Because we are calm about luxury, but very scrupulous about cleanliness. Therefore, we were misled by the number of good reviews. Apparently, they are bought. But it is better to spend this money on restoration and then people themselves will come in greater numbers. The only positive things that can be said are the polite staff! Of the minuses, and there are many. From the first breath of air in the hotel it becomes difficult to breathe, the smell is very musty and unpleasant. The old carpet and furniture smell. It needs to be replaced and the furniture changed or reupholstered. Cleaning will not help. The same unpleasant smell is in the gym, in the rooms and in the dining room. Shower cabins need to be washed with Clorox bleach, then the cabin will be white and smell fresh and clean, and not damp and moldy. The terrible noise of the air conditioner is bearable, I sleep well. But the fact that for the hotel owners apparently a surprise that the air conditioners must be washed at least once a year, but preferably twice, is a surprise for me! The terrible smell that comes out of it indicates terrible dirt inside and it settles in the lungs! People sleep and breathe it, and this is a lot of diseases! My husband is an air conditioner master and I know how terrible they are inside after a year of work, but here, in my opinion, they have not been washed since installation! The breakfast is standard, like everywhere else! It's great that it is! But I think that some improvements will not critically affect the budget, but significantly improve its quality! You can not buy the cheapest plastic products! The pool is not clean and this is also upsetting! I really hope that the management will stop buying reviews, but listened and make adjustments! I also wanted to add about the shower. You go into the shower stall, close the doors, take a shower and go out. And just a huge puddle meets you. You won’t be able to build a towel for your feet, it will just sink. You won’t be able to go in sneakers if you suddenly don’t have slippers for the bathroom. In general, it’s all...
Read moreI had to stop to stay after a very hard day. I was leaving after a long, difficult week in a hospice center with my mom, and I was exhausted and just needed to sleep. The woman working the front desk that night (I arrived very late)was incredibly kind and helpful. She was the best part of the stay. Unfortunately I was in a room that had an adjoining door to the next room, and the door clearly had no insulation or was paper then because I was subjected to hearing the television and the voices of the people next door all night. I even called the front desk, and the man told me he would "walk the halls" and apparently reported that he heard nothing when he walked the halls. That's likely because the doors to the rooms are better sound barrier than the doors between the rooms. I can assure you those people blasted their TV most of the night. When I went to check out - bleary-eyed and still crying from the phone call I had received early in the morning that my mom had passed in the night- I told the woman at the front desk(who was also lovely) that I wanted a refund because I shouldn't have to pay for not getting any sleep at a hotel where I only needed to sleep. She informed me that the person at the desk that night left a note that he didn't hear anything, which of course I found interesting because I certainly didn't hear him walking the hallways either, but I believe him when he said he did it. It sounded like he didn't believe me. At any rate she called a manager (who was not on-site to speak to me in person) and then informed me that the best the manager would do was give me half credit for the night. Emotionally spent I had no energy to argue and I just said that's fine, thank you. I then had to drive the rest of the way to the rally airport completely exhausted , emotionally and physically. I'm just really disappointed. I would give the woman at the desk the night.I checked in a 10 at the desk. The next morning and eight and your hotel in general a 5 for not providing the one thing I needed and for making me pay half a night's stay for about an...
Read moreAs soon as I walked into the lobby I knew we were going to have a pleasant stay. It was soooo clean, Lisa at the desk was very friendly and informative, and the fresh cookies were a bonus. The room was very much updated and impeccably clean. We were so pleasantly surprised that we could not find anything wrong with this room. The bathroom was bright and clean, the furniture, linens and beds were extremely comfortable. Lisa told us that we would get a percentage off at a few restaurants nearby. Lucky for us there was a great Mexican restaurant just across the parking lot. We walked to and from in just minutes. After a tasty meal we settled in for the night and enjoyed a good night's sleep. In the morning we went downstairs for breakfast. I can't rave enough about the choices that were awaiting us. One of the best hotel breakfasts we have had. I wish I had gotten the wonderful woman's name who took care of the breakfast area. She was incredibly nice, friendly, and kept that place running so smoothly and clean. What a great way to start a day! We had such a fantastic experience at the Sleep Inn in Smithfield, NC that we will stay here everytime we make the drive up I-95...
