TLDR; I was charged twice for the two occasions I went here. Food is great but I would come here with cash.
The corn beef hash bowl is delicious and the presentation was excellent. It came in a cast iron skillet and looked amazing. I came back twice in two days for it. The reason why I am giving two stars is because they charged me twice for both transactions.
The first transactions went through and I disputed it with my bank. The second one is pending and the bank recommended that I talk to the restaurant directly for a refund. I did just that and talked to the manager about the pending charge, but purposefully left out the second charge to hear his response about the first charge.
He told me that this is common occurrence and I should see a reversal on the pending charge. I then showed him the first charge that actually went through, showing as two transactions, and asked about that one. He didn't really answer for that other then wait for next business day for the transaction to process and dispute it with the bank.
All-in-all I am really disappointed on how the manager handled the situation and hoped at the very least he would own up the two mistakes instead of blaming the bank. If he knows that double charges happens frequently then take the proactive approach of identifying the problem and fixing it and not blaming the bank. Food is great and the service provided...
Read moreI’m going to very honest, the food was delicious. This was my family’s first time eating at a J Christopher’s, we just moved to this area, and have finished unpacking so I decided to try this place out because they deliver. First the food tastes close to my own homemade breakfast. The chocolate chip pancakes were a great portion size both of my little ones enjoyed them. The traditional breakfast my husband and I had was very delicious, grits were cooked well and seasoned okay. I’m an Atlanta native born and raised so grits were a staple in my home growing up with parents from southern rural GA. My only disappointment was I ordered over med eggs, they were more over easy to me, a little too runny for my liking. There was one small mistake, I ordered a extra egg and bacon for my husband’s plate, he was missing the additional bacon I paid for. Lastly, for my teenage son who loves to eat (he’s an athlete and future chef) he was happy with his omelette and I felt awful that his breakfast was not enjoyable. I would recommend trying to do diced avocado on top of the San Bernardino omelette instead of inside which made everything taste mushy. Plus there was a lack of chicken as this was the primary ingredient. All in all there was some great flavors. We will definitely try this place again but maybe as dine...
Read moreI came here to eat here the other day with my baby and we had a great experience. The last time I ate at this location was over 6 years ago so I am very pleased to see that they have kept their quality and standards over the years. I started my meal with a hot chai latte which came in a large mug with a significant layer of foam on top which I absolutely love, but if you aren’t a big fan of lattes with a lot of foam I would recommend asking for light or no foam. For our meal I ordered the Dinosaur Eggs kids meal with a blueberry pancake for my son, and I got the South Beach with egg whites with a side of jalapeño cheddar grits. The kids pancake meal was a great value for the price and very tasty. It’s your everyday pancake, eggs, and bacon but you really can’t go wrong with a classic! My meal was also a large portion of delicious egg whites, multigrain toast, Canadian bacon, fruit, and a side of the jalapeno cheddar grits. The melon was pretty hard but I can understand that considering it’s winter. The grits were amazing after adding a touch of butter, salt, and pepper. Overall it is a great everyday breakfast spot if you are looking for a...
