Called in for pickup near closing. Attendant was super helpful finding my order and helping figuring out a glitch with my debit card. Courteous and definitely on her game even near closing. She’s a good asset.
The food on the other hand was one star quality. I’m from the East coast and I realize there’s going to be differences but a calzone with no cheese warrants a call to the calzone police. For 20.00 the calzone was about 8 inches.
Piping hot because it was wrapped in a foil pouch. The condensation from being in the pouch results in a mushy dough. The dough was not pizza dough but something else that was tough, coated with an odd tasting olive oil, and sprinkled with corn meal. Three pieces of Italian sausage, no ham, tasty mushrooms (seven shrooms) a scant collection of red onion, and four Roma tomato halves was the contents of the calzone. They grilled it and then put it in the dough pocket. The weight was from the dough. Not the contents.
The menu clearly stated the contents and it was accurate (except no ham). A calzone with no mozzarella, ricotta, or provolone clearly screams for a recipe overhaul. Adding insult to injury, I requested ricotta as an added topping for 2.50. If it was added I didn’t see any. The obligatory sauce that was included for dipping was not marinara. It was close to tomato paste. No seasoning. No sugar.
Pizza. Taking a hit for the team - I ordered a slice of cheese pizza. Near closing it’s been sitting there a long time. The crust tasted like prefabricated sheet crust. The sauce a bland tomato. No oregano garlic or basil. Noted no edge. It was flat with no evidence of a cornicione. Disappointing but I knew it was a risk.
I’m conclusion: the staff I met was very helpful and the place looked clean. The food was below expectations and not of value for 20.00 for a calzone. Best look elsewhere to spend your money or scrutinize the menu and keep your expectations low. The calzone police has been notified. I shan’t be a returning customer. My first and...
Read moreWent in on June 24th a little after 7:00pm. The young lady with dark hair who was at the register was very friendly and polite. I was with my friend who had a separate order/payment which both orders included an alcoholic beverage. Before handing us the already open white claw beverages the waitress Chris checked my ID and proceeded to tell me that they don’t take vertical because IDs because it is a “Washington state law” with a very rude tone of voice. I did not argue I just asked for a refund for both me and my friends separate transactions. The waitress Chris was then working on our refunds and kept interrupting me and my friend separate conversation by repeating “It’s a Washington state law to not take vertical IDs.” It is not a Washington state law it is a business’s choice to not serve people with vertical IDs which is completely fine. They also have no signs posted that states they do not take vertical IDs. Chris than only refunded my card and took an additional almost half an hour to refund my friends card because she “could not find the transaction.” She then asked to see my friend BANK STATEMENT on her bank account app to have proof before continuing to refund my friends card. That is completely inappropriate to ask to see personal banking info. The entire time she was very rude when speaking to us even though we were being respectful about the whole situation. Also, once we received our pizzas I was given the wrong size pizza and when I brought the pizza in to be replaced I had mentioned to Chris that i ordered a large and paid for a large since she was already treating us like we were suspicious customers. Her response to my statement was “You will get your large pizza.” Love this pizza place for the food and the usual friendly atmosphere, but the waitress Chris was very rude to us and very...
Read moreStill looking for a memorably addictive pie that makes me want to spend my $ every other Fri... This isnt vibrantly buzzing w/happy excitement inside, but it does the trick if you have boycotted pizza in general due to lackluster taste from other chains and franchises in a 15 mile radius.
So, you're desperate for a decent pizza but have no intention of being forced indoors, if your bi-peddling near the vintage shopping downtown you may be on track. ...you want to buy a prepared pie...Restaurant is awkward but clean w/ decently "B-" staffing...chillax for tumbling weeds and teens though. Clean healthy salad bar ...again C+\B- dressings, but this is somewhat superior to other self serve bars
Brava's tends to keep mostly take out clientele, and proximity delivery. The drive is 15 minutes, so I don't use delivery. Pizza comes out to me med. to luke warm.
Cld go on about glory days of pies being over...but this is the only large pie of medium quality below $35 w/extra toppings in the area. Your baseline combo is around that once you flip toppings around.
I have some foodie critiques, but prefer tips may prove more useful. Ask for extra crispy crust w/ "medium well" for the meat toppings.
Ask for thick slices of mushrooms double helping or triple mushroom*when you need them.
All other veggies come out normal.
If you want a decent pizza w/out spending upwards of $65 to dot the family of fours hunger this...
