I’ve lived in the neighborhood where the restaurant is located for almost two years and finally gave them a try as I’m not normally a big Italian food person. I’m glad I gave them a try.
I arrived just after opening. The restaurant did fill up before I finished my meal.
The restaurant is quaint with a nice atmosphere and full of good people out for a nice italian meal. They play soft easy listening music in the background, which I enjoyed.
For the appetizer, we had the Gamberi In Salsa Rosa…a cocktail of large prawns with villa aioli sauce. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, but the sauce lacked bold flavors.
For the main course we had Spaghetti Bolognese with a side of hand made Beef Meatballs and Fettuccine Al Salmonella…. Cold Smoked Alaskan Ora Salmon in a Creamy Sauce.
The Spaghetti was cooked perfectly and the Bolognese was good, but could have benefited from a little more bold flavors.
The meatballs are all beef and nicely handmade with solid flavors.
The Fettuccine Al Salmonella was very good and had the bold flavors that I was expecting. The noodles were perfectly cooked.
For dessert I had the Tiramisu Su…Savoiardi, Espresso, Mascarpone, Marsala Cream. A nice light and creamy dessert with good bold flavors.
The waitress was very friendly and pleasant. She mentioned she was new and still learning her way around, but if she had not mentioned it, I would not have known. She also appeared to be the only waitress, but still managed to be attentive to everyone. Great job, Janelle!
The only downside side was the lack of steak offerings, which were none 😏 and no freshly grated parmesan.
Overall, it was a nice meal and a good experience! I...
Read moreAbsolute horrible experience from start to finish. The food was average compared to the national chains, but cost way more. The service was atrocious. We went there on a weeknight and the place was not at all busy. When we walked in, there were about 10 total tables (can’t remember exactly) in the restaurant, four of them were filled with people, three of them were filled with dishes, and the rest were clean and ready for customers. The owner asked us to wait to be seated while they cleaned the tables. We waited for 15 minutes! Why couldn’t we just sit at a clean table and order our food? We finally sat and looked over our menus. We didn’t see the waitress again for another 15 minutes. We ordered our main dishes, an appetizer and beverages, then waited. And waited. And waited. 20 minutes later the waitress delivered the complimentary bread and oil (which is usually delivered as you order your food, or just after). 15 minutes after that, the waitress asked if we would like more bread. We said that we were actually ready for the appetizer and drinks. To which she replied, “oh yeah.” She then immediately brought out the appetizer and drinks. 15 minutes later our food came (only an hour and 20 minutes after we arrived at the restaurant). After we finished eating, we asked for the check and waited. And waited. And waited. We finally got the check and paid. After all this nonsense, the owner of the restaurant refused to honor our Groupon because we didn't show it to him when we walked in the door! And he was a complete jerk about it. We were there for about two hours- the worst two hours I’ve ever spent in...
Read moreI was SO excited to bring my parents here as our friends and neighbors rave about this place. We decided to eat here their last night in town as a special going away dinner.
My folks were really excited when they saw that the executive chef was from a town in Italy near where they used to live. (Before me so I just know they were on Sicily!) They couldn’t believe they were about to eat legitimate Italian food.
Unfortunately, from the start it was a bad experience. The waitress asked if we had reservations which we did not. Instead of saying sorry you need reservations (which honestly would’ve been in our favor) she got a massive attitude and sat us. We honestly should have left but again the rave reviews from all our friends and community members had us stayed. My husband and brother arrived and we ordered. Oh man we were so so so excited terrible attitude aside.
When the food came we were so disappointed. I am so disappointed for my parents. The pasta was undercooked. The lasagna wasn’t palatable. And my husband had also ordered pasta on the side and didn’t receive it. When the waitress opened her notebook she told him he never asked for pasta which my entire table could have confirmed he did. We just didn’t want to deal with her any more.
What a bummer way to end a visit with my parents I haven’t seen in two years. Luckily the restaurants bad day didn’t ruin it.
Long story short. Rude service with uncooked food. Had the food been cooked then it wouldn’t been...
