Choice Juicery — Restaurant in Solana Beach

I’ll be honest with you all. I am not a healthy person as you can tell I eat out a lot (review count), sleep very little (closing bars), have many vices, but I do enjoy a good smoothie, juice, cleanse to remind me I’m no longer invincible. Yes, at one point I was.

When you’re on the go like me it’s convenience that reigns supreme in both eating and gym habits. When I try and eat healthy and I’m in the mood for a smoothie you’ll realize there are dozens of different shops, each doing dozens of different recipes & the difference is in the customer service. No one should expect the staff to be healthy, but they damn sure know their stuff. They probably aren’t vegan or vegetarian or gluten free either, but they are well trained and can guide you in whatever path you lead.

The store is friendly, inviting, they use compostable straws and recycle their cleanse bottles when you return them for a discount on your next purchase. The Carlsbad location is my usual spot, but they now have a 3rd location in Del Sur too.

The Warrior is my jam. Date for sweet, protein, banana, almond butter, spirulina, spinach, almond milk, I get some hemp seeds. I feel like a chef made their menu, not someone who turned their life around with healthy food. Their shakes and bowls are balanced. All their ingredients are top notch, organic, local when available. They didn’t get all into the pitaya craze a few years ago. Obviously they still offer acai, but definitely aren’t heavy on that ingredient. They tailor the suggested boosts to the drink, can’t just throw wheatgrass into everything right?

They do 1, 3 day juice cleanses. You get 6 bottles and a salad, more than most places who only go like 6 juices. Theirs consist of a milk, chloro water, 2 greens, 2 juices and a salad & it’s less expensive than most. The care and curation of their salads rivals restaurants. Places like Nekter really do more with juicing, but I think overall offerings it’s hard to beat Choice. Beaming probably does a better wellness set up & has great variety of flavors (also more chef style items), but is also a single location, less inviting and more expensive. I also like Vitality Tap and Everbowl, but prefer Choice.

The staff is amazing, they’ll take the time to walk you through anything/everything. Explain benefits to each item. It’s a level of service and hospitality that puts them head and shoulders above other places staffing buzz-tenders.

I love the variety of healthy, organic choices they have here! Everything I have tried has been amazing. My favorites are the liquid gold turmeric milk and the PB&J smoothie! Although it's a little pricey, it's totally worth it to me to get amazing quality organic juices, smoothies, and snacks! I used to LOVE Choice Juicery !! Especially when they were new and lowkey, but the employees at Solana Beach on Sunday were rude, not just to us but the people before us. Too many girls working and left customers hanging, kept to themselves and didn't respond to accidents. The quality of the food has gone downhill and for the price, it's not worth it anymore. Bottom line - rude service and atmosphere, expensive foods, mediocre...
