I’ve been coming to Barefoot regularly since moving to North County from LA two years ago, and it’s easily my favorite coffee shop in Solana Beach. The coffee is strong and consistently great, and their toasts (sweet and spicy avo is a must try) are my go-to for breakfast — simple but always delicious.
What really makes this place special is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and they’ve made an effort to get to know me by name, which truly makes it feel like a community spot. That’s a big part of why I keep coming back.
The atmosphere is perfect for working, studying, or just hanging out. It’s dog-friendly, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and you’ll often see familiar neighborhood faces. Plus, it’s right on Cedros Avenue — a beautiful street with shops, restaurants, and just a short walk to the beach.
Barefoot has such a good vibe all around — great people, great coffee, great location....
Read moreI’ll jump in on the comments here about poor service. Today I was waiting for my order and saw people behind me in line receive theirs. I patiently stood at the counter waiting to be acknowledged by 5 gals gabbing about who should make who an espresso shot. It took way too long to be acknowledged, and finally the one person actually working, acknowledged me. When I mentioned my missing order, one of the 5 baristas recalled missing it herself, and quickly got it. Her teammate didn’t trust me, she got to work digging through a pile of receipts in and pathetic attempt to prove I was incorrect??? This place is lacking leadership. They’ve forgotten they work in customer service. For every hard working employee I’ve seen, they have 2 woke bums who come to work to debate their next meaningless tattoo and stand around. The coffee and pastries are great, just visit with an abundance...
Read moreI've always loved this place to study at out on the patio. The coffee is good but strong. I took off 1 star because they shut the kitchen down 2 hours before closing. You can only get drinks and pastries after that. They have a very limited amount of plugs inside and 1 outside (in the corner of the building) that only 1 table has access to. Maybe some power strips along the areas there aren't plugs would solve this problem. Their bar area is cluttered and dusty on top with chairs that arent high enough esp if youre short. Also, today they closed almost an hour early for some reason and didn't post it anywhere. People who came there to work like myself were not happy campers. I think some small fixes could really make this place more enjoyable to spend time at esp for those of us doing...
