We got here early for a show next door at the Belly Up. When we purchased our tickets, we asked the clerk where we could go for a drink prior to the show starting. She suggested going next door to the Tavern and explained that if we did we would be able to come in through the connected door as long as we showed our tickets for the show and would not have to wait in line again to get into the Belly Up for the show. We went to the Tavern, ordered drinks, then we were told that unless we ordered full entrée meals along with our drinks that they would not stamp our receipt to get through the connected door and would have to go back outside to wait in line to get into the show. So we had to go back outside and wait in line yet again after spending quite a bit of money for drinks. Very unprofessional for paying customers. We will not be coming back. BTW, meals average $25 a plate. Oh, and also charge a 4% surcharge. I'm not sure what...
Read moreMy first time at this cute little cafe in Solana Beach. I was there to visit my niece and she took me to the design district there. She lives near there and had also never tried this restaurant. The server and hostess were very nice and attentive. The food was delicious! I had the brie stuffed hamburger with mushrooms & a port wine reduction sauce. It was amazing! The slightly sweet taste if the sauce worked well with the savory very juicy & very fresh ground beef burger! She had the filet mignon sliders & my daughter had the Turkey sandwich. I would definitely recommend this place and will go back when I am back in town. Also the prices for the quality and amount of food were reasonable!#eatoutside #drinkoutside #casuallunchspot...
Read moreGuy at the door treated my girlfriend like trash. I wanted to meet her for drinks before she met her mother for a show at the venue next door. He was so overweight he couldn’t even stand up to do his job. Very unprofessional- sitting on the bench in baseball shorts, drinking from a plastic cup, hair pulled back in a nasty little rat tail. He didn’t even stand up to talk to her to let her know the bar was full. Creepy, creepy, creepy. At least stand up and talk to people directly. For all she knew he was just some random dude. He told her it was full and then proceeded to let in two other girls. We ended up getting drinks up the street instead. Please hire someone who has a professional manner to better direct customers...
