Boiler Room — Restaurant in Solvang

5/8 back and going to maintain a 4 for now. I really enjoy the servers and the cook is the same cook now the last couple months which I think is getting much more consistent. There isn’t to many things on the menu so consistency is key for a long term stay like myself.

Never-mind, back to a three. It’s such a convent spot but the cooking is very inconsistent.

Changed to four star. I’ve ate here enough now to figure what is good and what isn’t. Noticed new cooks in back, maybe a recent change.

Service is fair and for the price the food is under par. I must say the steak/potato/zucchini meal the first surprised. A second order next day clarified I must of got lucky. Now today I ordered the presented 3 tier special, tomatoes soup, chicken piccata, and cheesecake. Staffs were friendly, nice and neat, clean. While we stayed at the hotel, we comfortably enjoyed wine/beer and dinner. But, the down thing was foods & the price. We ordered mushroom raviolis($18), pulled pork nachos($14), fettucine with marinara($14) + chicken breast($8), and beef tenderloin medallions($28). There were only "4" pieces of small mushroom raviolis and it was $18-OMG.... I thought this plate came out as a mistake. The beef steak cooked very nicely as medium rare, which I asked, but the steaks were salty and a bit cold, and the vegetables were "Way TOO" salty. I could eat the steaks with mashed potatoes since it wasn't seasoned, but I had to ask to make vegetables again. The pulled pork nachos were so delicious.

We would love to stay at the hotel again and recommend it to our friends, but not...

Should've realized when we walked in and saw that the place was empty on one of the busiest weekends of the year that was a sign it wasn't worth it. We had breakfast there Christmas Eve. The other few restaurants that were open had lines out the door but this place was empty. The food wasn't bad but it took longer than it should've and was just barely warm. The drinks tasted off like maybe they hadn't rinsed all the soap off from washing. Our server was nice but seemed brand new. Really...
