We had a great experience earlier at The Crab Trap, so we decided to check out Crabby Jack’s since it’s connected and right on the water. The atmosphere looked really fun laid back, breezy, and perfect for a casual stop with appetizers. We weren’t looking for anything heavy, just a chance to enjoy the view and relax for a bit.
I don’t drink alcohol (neither does my fiancé), and while I completely understand that Crabby Jack’s is a bar and many people go there to drink, I also expected it to be a little more family-friendly or at least accommodating to guests who don’t drink especially because the environment draws in a wide crowd. I ordered a piña colada and he got a strawberry daiquiri, assuming they were non-alcoholic since the menu didn’t mention alcohol for the pina colada there wasn’t strawberry daiquiri on the menu, but she said they could make it, and no one asked for IDs or clarified. We’re in our early 20s, so it’s something we’re used to being checked on, and this felt like a big miss.
Unfortunately, both drinks ended up containing alcohol. That really put a damper on the experience, especially for me since I don’t drink and had specifically been looking forward to a fun, virgin piña colada. I would’ve absolutely ordered something else had I known. I wanted to say something to our server, but she was hardly around. Mostly serving other tables, We didn’t see her for a long stretch of time, and by the time she returned, my fiancé had already gone to get the car and was waiting out front while I was still trying to get the bill. I eventually had to flag down just to pay and leave.
It was disappointing overall not just because of the drink issue, but because the service felt inattentive and disconnected. I really wanted to love this place, especially after the great experience we had next door. I know it’s a bar, but not everyone who walks in wants alcohol, and I think that should be okay too! Plus the view is gorgeous so of course everyone would...

We used to love Crabby Jack’s. We’d drive 3 hours, plan full trips around it—not just for us, but for our dog, too. One of our favorite traditions was taking her to the doggy beach and then relaxing here with great food and coastal vibes.
Now? That entire experience is gone.
Under new management, the restaurant has completely changed. • No dogs allowed • No emotional support animals, no matter how calm or necessary • No takeout • Parking is still a nightmare
Let me be clear: the staff was kind and professional—this isn’t on them. This is about the rigid new policies that have stripped away everything that made this place special.
My partner and I both work 13-hour days, mostly from home. We don’t get much time off. So when we plan a little escape, it means everything to bring our ESA along—our source of calm, comfort, and companionship. But Crabby Jack’s no longer welcomes that.
And while the food is still good, the hassle just isn’t worth it anymore.
To all the fellow pet parents and working couples out there: stay far away. Find a place that welcomes your fur babies and understands that sometimes, a dog isn’t just a dog—they’re part of the reason we get through our days at all.
Crabby Jack’s used to be our happy place. Now it just feels like a missed opportunity wrapped in a list of “no’s.” We’re heartbroken, and we...
Read moreNo free refills on normal drinks, but that's not the worst part. They serve regular drinks in small cups full of ice. You get 3-4 sips of drink per order and then nothing but ice.
We ended up ordering about 5 orders of soda/lemonade which ended up being $11 in just NON ALCOHOLIC soft drinks! And it was never satiating because on top of the small amount of beverage provided it took 5 minutes to get each drink as the waitress had to add another drink order before getting it, and she usually multi-tasked in getting other tables orders in at the same time.
This is a ridiculous practice for soft drinks. I've only seen this type of deception in alcoholic drinks. But this was just awful.
The food wasn't even that great. A mediocre place that really just rubbed me the wrong way when I realized they don't do refills, and never inform you they do not partake in this normal American restaurant practice.
I will never go back with this place. If this is the practice they want to employ in their business, then I hope they expect that their wait staff will be tipped in drink orders. Let your waitstaff rise up against you because they can't be paid proper tips when a cheap soft-drink can't just be refilled like every other restaurant.
Switch to cans if that's how you want to have it. At least its a whole satisfying drink, and not just 3 sips before having to call the wait...
