Came here based on reviews last night and had the opportunity to try it out with my boyfriend. Parking is metered off the street from 9-7 Monday-Friday. We made a 6:30pm reservation and to our surprise the restaurant was pretty full for a Monday evening. Our waitress was very helpful and sweet in recommendations and pointed us in the right direction as they have a variety of noodle dishes on the menu. We went with the crispy pork fried bao buns to start $9. Two perfectly crisped pork cutlets wedged into a scrumptious soft bao bun with greens and sauce were on the plate. We each had one and wow were those rich bites you never wanted it to end. I ordered a sauteed flat noodle dish with beef, green pepper, onion, and basil. It was okay needed more spice so I added the spicy oil to it and that was a game changer. We also ordered the coconut curry soup with noodles and that was the best dish hands down. The soup was nice and creamy just the right amount of spicy and noodle galore. Big portions we couldn't eat it all so we had left overs. Our experience was overall good but we have had better Thai food I think it lacked spice but overall a solid place with great bao buna. Also this place is BYOB and everyone takes advantage of that.

Kuay Tiew makes it onto my list of favorite Thai restaurants in NJ! My go-to dish when trying new Thai restaurants is pad krapow, oftentimes written as spicy basil on some menus. Specifically I look for ground meat, flavorful sauce, the scent of basil, and some light heat (not always Thai spicy as it’s personally too hot for my enjoyment and my digestion). Aside from the pad krapow I also decided to try their Ducky Puff (if I’m remembering the name of that item correctly), which is like their flaky curry puff with a lightly sweet and definitely salty filling. Interior is very nice. Pricing matches that of the area but I do think serving sizes, ambiance, service, and of course the food warrants it. Also note that like many places now they have an extra service charge for credit transactions, which does not apply to cash or debit transactions. I’m not frequently in Somerville but the next time I have a Thai flavor craving I know where I’ll be visiting. Thanks!

The BEST experience I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. To start, everyone was beyond friendly. Our server was extremely and helpful. I love that they gave us wipes to clean our hands prior to eating, and also really appreciated that they leave bottles of water on the table to refill. The pork buns were the best I’ve had. Crispy, juicy, packed with flavor and the pickled veggies added the perfect amount of acidity. The curry noodle soup was insane. Portion was large, it was creamy, spicy and sweet. The crispy noodles on top added the perfect crunch. Prior to leaving we asked to take our leftovers to go. Our server packed them for us at the table (thank god because there’s no way I wouldn’t have spilled the broth) and folded the bag nicely so it would stay closed. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant itself but between the service and incredible flavors, it was phenomenal. Cannot wait to come back!

My husband and I were craving some of our favorite Thai dishes so we decided to visit Kuay Tiew. We don’t live nearby but had eaten at this establishment on another occasion and despite the 40 minute driving distance from our home, we were eager to visit again. After entering the restaurant we stood at the host desk waiting for a man (whose back was turned to us) to assist us with seating. Shortly thereafter, a young lady came over from the other side of the restaurant to notify the man (who was still turned the other direction and focused on a tablet screen) that customers were standing behind him. We asked for a table for two and this man (who appeared to be the manager) refused to seat us, gesturing to a sign that said that the “last seating of the night is 8:15”… at this moment it was 8:18. YES. 3 minutes past the arbitrary “last seating time” and 42 minutes before the restaurant’s closing time of 9:00pm. Nowhere on the restaurant’s website, Google listing or hours does it say anything about a “last seating time”. Everywhere, the closing time is listed as 9:00pm. My husband and I are not the type to walk into a restaurant 15 minutes before closing and ask to be seated, as that would be very inconsiderate to the staff. However, it is more than reasonable for two people to order and finish their meals well within a 42 minute time period. My husband told the man that we already knew what we wanted to order and would be able to order immediately. He still refused to seat us, claiming that “it’s over” the staff are already “done and hanging out now” and there was “nothing he could do”. This made no sense as there were other customers sitting in the dining room eating. Who was waiting on these customers if the staff were all “done and hanging out”? Also what kind of establishment would have the staff “hanging out” for the last 45 minutes of their shift? Wouldn’t they rather be making money by waiting on tables? After several minutes of dialogue with this incredibly rude and unreasonable man, we left and went to another restaurant. We were able to drive to Bridgewater, find a parking space, be seated, place our order and finish all of our food before Kuay Tiew’s actual closing time of 9:00pm. To think of unceremoniously turning away paying customers in this economic climate is astounding. I guess they don’t need our business… or yours.

We were cheerfully greeted at Thai Kitchen in Bridgewater where we enjoyed an excellent meal with wonderful service. Their Pad Thai and Thai Iced Tea were some of the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend them as an alternative to Kuay Tiew; you won’t be...

I’m going to start by saying this place was my favorite of all, the food is amazing and I used to loved coming here. However the last two times I’ve been there I can tell that it’s not very baby friendly. I went with my baby for my birthday in September and let me say my baby did not made a sound. It was when I was about to put him on his stroller the owner literally took the stroller from me placed it close to the exit and said to me put it here. As a new mom you will be upset. However I didn’t came back until last Friday 01/12/2023. He saw me coming in with the stroller and right away said no seats you need reservations nothing until 8:30 which I know for fact that’s when they take their last sitting and last order for the kitchen, I’ve been going there for almost five years. What they did not know was that my husband called right away and he got a reservation for 7:30 literally half hr of us getting there he said nothing to 8:30. As I was walking out a family of five walked in. He sat them down (they did not had a reservation because I asked them outside if they had one they said no) so I patiently waited to see if they will get turned out. To my surprise they didn’t I saw him looking over the tables to see where they will be sitting when I walked back into the restaurant and let him know how I felt about it he said he will turned them away. That was not my intention it was his wrongful actions towards us because we had our baby that made me walk in there and told him how I felt since I’ve been almost a five year customer eating there and ordering take out many times a month. I used to loved coming here again the food is delicious and there are amazing waiters there. HOWEEVR IT IS NOT...

How I can tell if a Thai restaurant is good is by their Pad Kee Maow. I ordered it the first day I had takeout here, and it was packed with delicious Thai heat! They asked what level of spice I wanted, and I told them level 8. If your looking for something with heat definitely order it! It usually comes with wide noodles, but when I ordered it was the first few days of the Cova-19 shutdown. They couldn’t get a delivery from NYC for the wide noodles during that time so they replaced it with the rice noodles they use for the Pad Thai. For appetizers I had the Keaw Tod (fried wonton) and the Tod Mun Pla (Thai fish cake). Keaw Tod is usually one of my favorite Thai appetizers, but here I just thought it was ok. It didn’t have much of a cream cheese flavor which makes it really good. The Tod Mun Pla was good! The dipping sauce made it tasty! The other dinner I had here was the Pad Thai which was very good! My favorite dish so far here is the Pad Kee Maow! For desserts I had the Kuay Tiew Roti with Nutella and a dessert special they had Sticky Rice with Mango Roti. The Muay Tiew Roti with Nutella was good, and the Sticky Rice with Mango Roti was delicious! It sounds different, and I never would of thought I would of liked it so much! You have to try it! It’s a really nice restaurant on the inside, and they have some outdoor sitting as well. Everyone here is really nice too! I recommend Kuay Tiew Noodles...
