Honestly, if I could give this place ZERO stars I would only because I came in here earlier today around 6:30pm. I sat at the bar & wasn’t greeted at all not even acknowledged and lucky for them I was meeting a friend who happened to call so I decided to revisit after the meeting and eat then. I returned at 8:30pm as soon as I went to sit at the bar, the girl approached me and instantly & said sorry we did last call for kitchen and I’m thinking but online it says they close at 9pm… She just looked at me while I was in thought and said today we close early. Ok that’s cool, mind you I’m starving and I was told that this place has really good food especially the sliders but now I’ll never go back in there again and they also lost business because POSTO is down the block and open, ready for business! Food was delicious at POSTO, definitely recommend their Fungi pasta. Thank you for saving me from what was probably going to be a horrible experience with that kind of “hospitality”.
*update Ok I caved in because I pass it almost everyday and just had to try it out (says a friend) lol I came in as soon as they opened maybe that’s the trick. The service was attentive the staff had some good vibes, they seemed to all be very close and that was nice to see at an establishment bc the energy says a lot about a place. I ordered an expresso martini which I was very impressed with since I’m a huge fan of expresso martinis and there’s so many ways to create them. I also ordered those famous sliders at the bar for $5. I got the buffalo chicken which was eh, the chicken bacon ranch one was fire 🔥 but the shaved ribeye was not great at all, all you taste is arugula and bread but when starving you’ll eat anything lol This experience was much better than the last one. The only thing I have to say though is when you get your bill your charged liquor tax and I was told it’s a Mass thing but hear me out and I’m a foodie I’ve gone everywhere in Boston and never been charged a liquor tax. A kitchen appreciation I get and that’s nothing I don’t mind but liquor tax sounds like something the establishment should be paying not the guest. If I’m already being charged for the liquor why am I paying for the tax on top of my bill that’s already being taxed. Weird but no matter how good that one slider and expresso martini was I won’t be going back,...
Read moreMy parents, husband and I went for dinner on a Monday night and were very impressed by our experience at Civility Social House!
We started with the rooster shrimp appetizer and this was probably the tastiest item we had all night. The shrimp was hot and crispy and the slaw was DELICIOUS, creamy, herbaceous, and a little spicy, a perfect compliment to the shrimp.
I got the buffalo chicken flatbread and loved it! The flatbread was large but very thin and crispy, with loads of blue cheese. There was one small piece of fried chicken on every single slice of pizza, and the buffalo sauce was heavy but not overpowering.
For dessert we split the skillet cookie and the one cookie was truly plenty for four people to share. What a steal for $14!
Service was solid. We arrived early for dinner so it took a little while to get a water to drink but as soon as I got the glass, waiters came by frequently to top it off, so nobody went thirsty. My only critique was some of the dishes (a burger, a sandwich) could have used a bit more salt, but there was none on the table.
I'd definitely come back to Civility Social House when I'm in...

Let’s just say, if this place were a rom-com, we’d be the quirky side characters who always run into each other at the same booth—destiny, or just really good truffle fries? The atmosphere is chef’s kiss—think "classy library meets your coolest friend’s dinner party," and the food? So good it should come with a warning label ("Caution: May cause spontaneous ‘mmm’ noises").
And then there’s Bob. Oh, BOB. The man, the myth, the ”I-see-you-walking-in-and-suddenly-my-day-is-better” legend. If Civility had a VIP list, Bob’s smile would be the golden ticket. 🎫✨
Pro tip: Come hungry, order to share (because FOMO is real, and the portions are generous—like, ”Did they accidentally give us the kitchen’s family meal?”* generous). And those warm, salty, crisp-as-a-dad-joke chips** they drop when you sit down? A snack so perfect it’s basically a hug for your taste buds.
Bottom line: We’re officially Civility stans. See you next week (and the week after… and probably the week after that). Bob, save our...
