I recently moved to this neighborhood and this morning was my first time stopping in here. I was only trying to buy a chrysanthemum. There were very few lanes open so I went to one of the self-checkout lanes, thinking it would be faster than waiting for two customers who had cartfuls. Little did I know. There was only one person in front of me and he started to walk away from the checkout area as if he was leaving, so I took one step forward. He walked back and I preemptively apologized even though I thought my behavior was reasonable. He didn't even acknowledge my apology, instead going on a long, irate rant about my supposedly terrible behavior while I just stood there. There were very few customers and I have difficulty believing no one heard one word of his incredibly rude behavior, but no employees tried to intervene. As he left, his demeanor abruptly changed and he started saying hello to the employees he passed on his way to the exit.
After he finally left (he had stayed much longer than necessary to continue being horrible to me), I tried to self-checkout, but the system went to "calling for help" so fast that I wasn't able to pay, so then I had to wait for someone to come to reset it, and the person who came didn't wait until I'd successfully paid. When I was trying to pay the second time, the screen froze while processing the payment - and I mean it truly froze, to the point where even trying to press the help button wouldn't work. After waiting several minutes for someone to notice me just standing there, I finally flagged someone down. They told me to hold on. A couple minutes later they returned, said someone else was coming, and left me alone again. A few minutes after that, someone else came and reset the system again, after which I was finally able to actually pay.
All of this took at least 15 minutes, which included being yelled at by another customer, just to get a potted mum. I don't know if the very rude customer was a regular that the employees were trying not to offend, but my experience there today means that this would-have-been regular customer is now going to look into getting my groceries delivered from somewhere else, because I never want to go through what I went through this morning again. Goodbye and good riddance to this store, its awful customers, and its employees who don't seem to care at all...
Read moreThe only super market 5 minutes or less away from my home and its the worst place to shop at. Not because of the food but more the workers that are supposed to be "friendly and helpful service" as they clearly state in their motto. Recently I went to the florist area to purchase some balloons and other things that I had and their was nobody at the florist area to attend me and my mother. We waited a while and found that no one was paying attention to us. So my mom saw a lady walking and my mom called her and she told us to wait. 10 minutes went by when my mom said she would catch her a customer service. To come to see that she was chit chatting stupid things with the other worker and my mom angrily told her that we needed assistance with some balloons. She immediately said, "What, you want some balloons" in a surprised tone. My mother answered YES, and I want to pay for other stuff as well. She then said, "Oh my God." As if we were crazy or something. After that while thing happened she started inflating the balloons and asked if I wanted clips for the balloons or bunched together without clips. My mom asked how much the clips were and the lady angrily said, "What do you mean? the clips cost nothing." Well, in the first place she asked if we wanted them or not so my first reaction would have been do they cost anything? I mean this lady was overall very rude and trying to take out her anger on us, the customers. I find that very unfriendly and very unhelpful. Very bad place overall the associates are always rude and think negatively of their customers. But it's the only market closest to my home so I find myself having to buy my weekly food...
Read moreThere's no doubt this store will have everything that you need. There are sufficient Latin , Asian and other kinds of food in the store.theres also ample parking and although it is off of a main Street it is not a busy area as it is a dead end . This leads to easy parking and fast access . Not to mention the store is close to assembly and 3 bus routes (101,89,90). Additionally its open very late (at least 10 PM) . You can also get money orders here and fill your prescription as well as have access to a full service Deli and Bakery . If you can't tell by now this grocery store is built on convenience - I truly believe that is their sole mission. But keep in mind YOU are paying for that convenience $2 for a loaf of plain white bread , $6 for 2 Lbs of ground beef , $3 for a liter of Canola oil , $2.30 for 12 eggs, 5 whole garlic cloves for $2.30 , the list goes on and on . Although I like that I can always find everything I need this grocery store is not the most affordable option around . I instead go to Aldi in Medford to get my weekly grocery needs and try to buy online whatever they don't have (for example Aldi does not carry Siracha sauce ). I'd rather go out of my way to have a * FULL * cart of groceries ($60) that will last me ~1Wk than to spending $70 for much much less at Stop and Shop . Stop and Shop is not a bad store in fact it's very nice and clean and again have almost everything you could want but simply just...
