The building and atmosphere were really nice. However we went on a Sunday evening and were told they had no food other than pretzels and chips even though their menu listed several appetizers (for which we had a coupon)đ. The drinks we ordered were delicious but our already small glasses were only 1/2 full. This is unacceptable fur $9.00 drinks. The servers were pleasant but we will not be returning anytime soon.
In light of the Hideaway's response, our drinks were a watermelon something and they were not 'neat' they were 1/2 full. According to the server they had to throw the bread away because it had gone bad. This is not a sign of a busy Saturday. And what... No one could go out to buy bread? And again while the atmosphere and servers were nice, overpricing and poor management are not good things. I am a huge fan of supporting small businesses and I really wanted to like this place. Also when you put it a coupon (DTSB Summer pass) you should be prepared to honor...
Read moreI used to be a regular here but the standards and experience has gone down substantially. As a regular I got to see how the owners were not very friendly to people outside of their clique and even less nice to their staff. Its never a good sign where you see a new bar tender every month due to the temperament of the owners. The food is quite bland as well and I've tried almost everything on the menu. There is no real taste and it for sure isn't worth the premium price you pay for it. The place is very cozy but not great for large seating as there is not enough space for more tables and places to sit. I once was going down from the apartments above later at night and asked the bartender if I could take a quick shortcut through to the other side of the road. I got yelled at and rebuked by the owners for doing so. If you want better drinks, a better atmosphere, and much friendlier staff for the same price point, go to the...
Read moreWe will never go back to this place. Its very dark, drinks are extremely expensive (we ordered 2 - double vodka/Cranberry and they charged us $35 for the 2 drinks) that was a first for us. The drinks that were made were awful...its not hard to make a proper vadka cran... anyways, we paid and left without drinking our drinks because they were just terrible. The staff/possible owner (?) who sat at the bar drinking his own stock, wanted to argue with us about the price of our 2 drinks. ...just rude...I would never treat my customers...
