This place was highly recommended while I'm in town for work in Anderson. This was a total let down. I ordered a BBQ sandwich plate with Mac and cheese, baked beans, and Cole slaw. I sent the Cole slaw back because it was too sweet for my liking. I got fried okra. All the food was just a disappointment. Burnt okra, extremely dry and chewy BBQ. Then I ordered the banana pudding. It was disgusting! No other words to describe it. It was prepared to order crunchy cookies, banana slices mixed in the gray color instant pudding.the pudding wasn't fully mixed it had dry powder pieces. To my dismay I was charged 3.25 percent to swipe my debit card. I didn't ask for a manager. I just felt like it would fluster the server. They were kind. But never once asked how the food was. The host did ask , I was honest . They simply apologized and went back to work. I was hoping a manager would do table touches but no. 23 dollars down the drain .

The best chicken and pork I've ever had in Anderson, amazing flavor, the chicken seemed to be cooked with smoked wood which makes you imagine you're at a campsite. Also the sweet potato puree was fresh out of the oven and warm. The chicken was big so you can take what's left home and taste this exquisite flavor again. The atmosphere is like being in a cabin at night with dim candle lights. Its flavor surpassed everything I've tried before so I recommend it 200%! It really deserves it.

The restaurant is very dark. The table was sticky and the walls dirty. The host was very effective and polite. The value for the food is very poor compared to surrounding restaurants and the meat was not cooked well. It was very chewy and very fatty. If the sauce is homemade it is done very well and the tea was good as well. I got 3 ribs for $18.00 total with tea and fries compared to surrounding restaurants 18-20 dollars is a full rack.

The fact that I had to put only 1 star saddens me. My family has been eating at this location for around 15 years now and before the owner passed away the staff and the food were amazing! Yesterday, that all changed. We live over an hour away and by the time we got there we knew they would be a little busy so when we got there the hostess (super nice young lady) told us it would be a few minutes before we got a table. Once we got seated a few waitresses came by our table but nobody stopped to take our order. Several minutes had passed and at one time a very young girl kept giving us very mean looks and at one time got into an argument with the hostess telling the hostess to wait on us instead of her. A couple of minutes later the hostess asked if anyone had approached us to order and we said no but hearing what we heard from the young waitress my husband said he did not want her waiting on us that we would prefer the hostess waiting on us because of the rudeness that young waitress was giving us. As we were saying that to the hostess the young waitress passed by and said something very rude but said it so low that we could not hear her. At that point we made a decision to not eat there and asked for a manager. When the manager came out we informed her of what happened and as we got our things to leave the young waitress came up in my face and confronted me. That was uncalled for!!! I reminded her that she needed to show some respect for her elders. I'm only 41 but still. Kurt, the owner who passed away, would have never had that happen. It's sad to know that the place we loved to come to for some great food is not the same as...

I went to this place a few months ago and was pretty disappointed. I've been wanting to try this place for over 6 months but their hours of operation always seem to be closed when I came by. Finally we got to try it and it pretty sucked. Pretty sure in the back they hired chef Mike as my macaroni and cheese was way too hot like it was microwaved. Fresh mac and cheese will be bubbly and gooey and great, but this was super hot and not bubbly or gooey so seems microwaved. The meat was watery as hell as there's a pool of water on my plate underneath it. Also I didn't really much care for base flavor of the meat, but the sauce helped. The only thing I really liked was the sweet potato casserole so there is that. I think they're macaroni would have been good if it was actually fresh. The thing that confused us the most though was bringing out the toasted bread with barbecue sauce to dip it in. I've never seen that before and the bread didn't really go with the sauce so it was just weird.

The last thing I'm going to say is that the staff are all kids running around dancing singing and being generally unprofessional. If the food had at least been good this could have been overlooked easily but it wasn't so I'm mentioning it.

We might someday see this place on the episode of kitchen nightmares, that's what it struck me as LOL.

Furthermore, I'm really confused on all the positive reviews. Where are these...

We woke up hungry after going to an event the night before. We ordered the Mighty 5 plus a shrimp basket, and my son ordered a bbq pork plate. Total order was $60 and some change. Ok, i arrived at Creekside to pick up my orders. The service was great. The ppl were really nice and attentive. Didn't even have to wait long at all. So, im thinking, GREAT! We go straight home (@ 12 mins). We gather at the table to eat (5 ppl)... Wow...😬 ALL of the food was cold! None of the food was freshly cooked. It's like they took it right out of the fridge. The 1/2 chicken was actually a small cornish hen. The brisket was thin with hardly any meat on it, maybe about 2 servings. The ribs were so cold and dry. The hen meat was dry (thank God for the sauce, so we cold dip it). The sweet potato soufle was burned and bitter! Then entire meal was a let-down! And we paid $60 for garbage! That was my very 1st and also my very last time eating from this restaurant. Before long, the kids were saying we should have went to KFC! But its our loss, unfortunately, because we won't be vindicated. So, we charged it to the game. What a disappointment. They knew that food wasn't worth the $60 we paid for it, but they served and sold it to us anyway😕 Shame on them! When we got there, there were no ppl there. Now we see why! We will never eat there again, and will not recommend our friends and family eat...
