This is a review of the bed, not the store,. We gave it 6 months REALLY wish we had a positive experience with this product as the decision to buy was 20 years in the making…..
For 3 decades I’ve heard my wife brag about her parents bed so we saved for years to buy one. I don’t sleep well and looked forward to improving my sleep as the company claims. I’ve experienced no improvement. On the contrary, when I move in the night, the bed does it “smart” magic and adjusts by changing the sleep number without input from me. This only serves to wake me up more as I hear the bed working and feel the adjustment. By the same notion, my wife looked forward to “feeling” better in body, as the company claims, but after 6 months, no noticeable difference.
The reduced snoring claim is also a no go for us.
The remote is clunky and dated. At near $10,000, it should be state of the art. I suppose a positive is that the remote could be used as a weapon. The sales people are smart NOT to show customers the remote when selling because it would likely turn buyers off.
My negative review is mostly related to the cost. If it were priced similar to high end mattresses, my review would not be 1 star, but would not be 5 stars either. With an income of under $50k per year, for purchasing was a foolish investment.
We may be unique as most reviews are positive for this company, and I do not like leaving negative reviews. In this case, if my review helps someone avoid wasting hard earned money, expecting an improvement in sleep, (and other claims) be cautious.
So, better sleep, feeling better in body and reduced snoring, are the reasons we bought, none of which have improved.
We are $10k poorer with no benefit gained. We miss our old bed.

Update, 11./10/2021 App and remote will no longer work fully. After 2.5 hours of messing with it (starting with heartburn at 2:30 am) and using all I could find online, ,gave up. Called them today and we now have to take time off work to meet a tech at the house. The bed gets MORE expensive.
Really cannot understand why they would not keep manual, non wireless controls. I was ready to burn the whole thing down with my poor vision trying to get the VERY expensive POS working in the middle of the night. Simply give the option to NOT use a wireless method of adjusting. A wired remote would alleviate the app and wireless remote issues. Definitely cannot recommend.
Update, 5/2022 The negative always gets noticed more than the positive, but I simply cannot let this go...Ive given up and now sleep on the couch most nights. somtbing I didn't add because I thought I'd get used to it....the bed automatically adjusts randomly. This wakes me if I'm asleep when it does it. Also, my wife will be sleeping quietly, the bed will adjust and she starts snorting....extremely frustrating....not to mention sleep depriving. I see sleep number responded to offer support. . I never got the message until I returned to the review...5 months later. Sleep number folks, I imagine your product must work for many, but it is the worst decision from a financial and health direction I've ever made. Unfortunately, we have to try to "make" it work. Unless you will buy the bed back, not sure what you can do to lessen the blow. Well gladly sell it if we can get a buyer and go back to a normal mattress. We called you MUST wait 30 days to start a return within the 120 day policy or window you have to keep the bed. To our surprise yesterday 09/14/2024 after speaking with Tori a customer service rep at sleep number. The BASE is NOT returnable. So now we are stuck with a $3,000 base. So within the fine print of the contract that is written. She told us that during the buying process they are required to tell us that… well that didn’t happen. I will never ever recommend sleep number. While shopping for another mattress yesterday a lot of dealers is choosing not to carry sleep number due to the high compliments and warranty that are filed. Please do your research before making an investment like we did! Worst mistake. And to our sales guy here at this Anderson Sc… do better being deceiving and just trying to make a sell for the lining of your pockets I get it and understand that is your job and how you put food on your table. But my friend I am saying being a honest sales person and making honest deals will get you more places in this life. It had been years since I visited a Sleep Number store.

I did the whole tour. My guide was Ned Lovell, who is the store manager. The big question I had was answered in no time flat. My sleep number is 35! Good to know!

The technology they have now is amazing. They call it Sleep IQ®. It rates your sleep, tells you your best sleeping hours, and can communicate with your fitness and sleep apps.

Other advancements include feet warming (yes!) and a light under the bed for those late night trips to the bathroom.

The sheets there can make a difference in staying at a comfortable temperature overnight.

The pillows are amazing. I tried one that has a curve or cut-out at the neck. I have never tried a more comfortable pillow. My next one will definitely have this feature!

The entire store is summed up by the message on their doors. If you want to improve the 1/3 of your life spent sleeping and impact your overall health and well-being, then visit your local Sleep...
