It's okay. Like that you can refill your own drink instead of waiting in line while your movie is playing! The seats however aren't the most comfortable. I do appreciate that they allow us to have our privacy and don't snoop in our purses, allowing us law abiding citizens with permits to carry the right to protect ourselves and the other innocent movie-goers from any potential crazy person who may enter the theatre planning to do harm because of "daddy issues". It makes much more sense to me to allow those of us who have been checked and approved by the state, and in my case, the state of Minnesota as well, which is VERY strict in handing out permits to carry. You have to go through extensive training and testing before your permit to carry up there. I don't think they check purses at the Regal anymore either, but when they did it made no sense at all! They checked every woman's purse but didn't frisk the men. So I'd leave my gun in the car while my husband still had his attached to his belt inside his jeans in his holster and under his shirt. Did they ever even ask to check him or ask him if he had a firearm? Nope. Which I was happy about anyway knowing at least he had his firearm should some looney decided to start shooting up the theatre. You'd be happy too if you were in the same movie as us! Again, it's NOT the law abing citizens that are going to shoot you, it's the criminals, and they don't obey the rules anyway.
Anyway, the theatre is okay, the seats could be better, recliners would be great but even if they just fixed the broken armrests so the cup holders all work for everyone that would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFantastic! Just saw the new Spiderman movie today & it's the first time I've been to this theater. It is amazing! They had blankets for sale near the concession stand & I wasn't sure why until I saw the seats. (Also, it is assigned seating. You have to choose your seat at the box office before you go in.)
The seats are super comfortable & recline. Most importantly, even when you are fully reclined, there's enough space in front of your reclined feet for other people to walk (so you aren't having to constantly move up & down for people to go by). Very spacious & thoughtfully designed! Even without the reclining feature, the extra space is great!
Honestly, this is a genius idea. If people love being comfortable in their own homes when watching movies, make theaters as comfortable as their homes! Even the concession stand is good for this, since you can pour your own drinks & add condiments or butter. It's like you're going somewhere to chill & watch movies with other people.
I love it! Will def be coming back with a light travel blanket for max coziness.
The only kinda iffy thing is that it's hard to know if a bathroom stall is available, since the doors stay closed. Honestly, in a women's bathroom (especially after a movie), I always assume all the stalls are in use, so it took a sec to realize that a ton were open. I wish they had one of those 'vacant/in use' things on the door lock. That's my only complaint though. Otherwise, 5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to leave a good review but hesitate. I enjoy immersing myself into a great movie but letting the video and music/sound pull me in. Tonight, we went to the 8:30p showing of āThe Conjuring: Last Ritesā. Iām seated dead middle to be most comfy in a chair whose vinyl is peeling, gum and waste in the cup holders, speakers hanging over the screen visibly shadowing the movie, exit signs that do not dim shining in my eyes, and the frustration of continuous ads 20mins past the movie start time. I expect the one ad for phone silencing or concessions then trailers start but to continue running ads followed by four (count them) ads for the company owning the theater before the trailers⦠ridiculous.
Iād love to say I have a comparison movie experience at the other theater in town but rarely want to pay the cost of going to the movies. $7.80 for a soda, $20+ for a combo, self-serve ticket sales at a kiosk, paper theater numbers taped to walls⦠what has the industry come to? This is not the level of entertainment Iād pay to enjoy again. This has to turn around if theaters want to stay in business.
Hope you read...
