El Jimador Mexican Restaurante — Restaurant in South Carolina

I brought my son here on Friday for lunch to celebrate his gradation. My waiter was not friendly or welcoming at all. My son and I ordered the same exact thing, the lunch chimichanga. One plate was brought out. I thought maybe his food was still cooking so I waited before even touching my food. My server passed my table 5xs. Never asked how it was when clearly I haven’t touched my food. Finally I wave him down to ask him if my sons food was coming out and he said yeah. About 15 minutes go by. I still haven’t touched my plate finally he approaches my table to ask how things are going(at this point I was about to walk out but I didn’t want to let my son down as this is what we wanted as his graduation lunch) I responded back that I’m just waiting for my sons food to come out so we can eat. He said “so you want to put in another order in?” I said yes. He replied with “on a separate ticket?” I said sure whatever it takes. I gave my son my food to eat. After 15 minutes of him being done with eating they brought a plate out on a kids plate with smaller portions. At this point I lost my appetite I told the lady that brought my food out I didn’t want it anymore. The waiter approaches my table with the plate and said you ordered this and I responded with I lost my appetite I don’t want it anymore. He looked at me annoyed as if I was stupid. I’m not sure what happened here. If it was him just not being nice or if it was a English barrier. If it was a English barrier then its very offensive that my waiter thought I would have sit in a restaurant and eat a meal in front of a kid and not feed him. I really wanted to like this place, but... we did not have a good experience. I came with a large group of family after a funeral so a lot of what happened went unnoticed and not many complaints at the time. We had to move the tables into place ourselves. The wait staff kept putting more chips in front of my children without asking, and they ate most of them before I noticed so they didn't eat their food once it came. The entrées came out before the appetizer. They had no idea who ordered what when they brought the food out. We did not get offered any refills. The taste of the food was lacking and inconsistent. The rice was over salted, and other items were bland or lacking enough cheese or sauce. I had to ask for silverware and napkins for everyone as we were sitting there, unable to eat the food in front of us. The chips for the nachos were all crumbled up like it was the end of a chip bag. The only thing positive I can is that they weren't rude and we didn't have to wait a long time for the food or check. Honestly, it just seemed like a bunch of people who really had no idea how to do their jobs properly... it did seem like they were putting in an effort and just failed miserably. They would've rated higher on the atmosphere, but we ended up buying doughnuts and candy from a guy and his child soliciting. Went in for a quick beer and appetizer! Seated on the patio! Ordered a tall beer and queso cheese appetizer! As I sat back in my chair it collapsed!, after changing chairs, the server brought my beer and salsa and chips like every other "mexican" restaurant! A few moments after my appetizer arrived! I sat and waited for the chips to arrive, none DID! I can't understand serving an eight dollar appetizer with no chips or bread to dip it with! Then, I noticed how watery the dip was! More like milk with a few very tiny pieces of chorizo sausage! When I stirred it with the fork I found a piece of chip soaked in the bottom! Don't know how that got there as I had not eaten from it yet! Waited for the disappearing waitress who never returned! She finally returned with my bill and I asked for a manager! She asked me, "why"? I told her don't ask me why? Get a manager! Another waitress informed me, one managers off and ones not here! She called Eric who told her to give me half off!
