KAY Jewelers — Local services in Sumter

DO NOT GET YOUR WEDDING RING OR ANY DIAMOND RING FROM KAYS IN SUMTER, SC MALL! This is a warning for those who especially are purchasing wedding rings. My husband purchased my wedding band from Kays Jewelry in Sumter Mall along with the warranty that covers the ring including the diamonds if one was to fall out. In 2022 my diamond fell out and it was replaced with no problem. Now in 2024 a different diamond came out and now the Store Manager Renate told me that I would have to pay my diamond out of pocket! They said it approximately would be $400-$500 to replace because my warranty would only cover the metal. I don’t know anyone who would get a warranty that would only cover the metal. That’s not true if I had a diamond replaced before. Renate calls the District Manager Aaron that was just as worse as her and told me they would cover half of the fee for my diamond depending on how much it costs when it’s appraised . No! They need to stand by their word and honor their warranty that was already purchased by my husband and cover the diamond ring to be fixed. They do not have good business practices, they only want to make sales after that they do not take care of their customers. I have brought several items from this store, but I will not support a business that does not support their customers and has a ring that the diamonds keep...

Unfortunately, this store failed to train one of the floor supervisors (shoulder length blonde hair) in how to provide great customer service or in how to conduct basic jewelry store operations. Dealt with individual for nearly 2 months in getting a replacement for a broken item and either the wrong item comes in and/or you get excuses on why the order was somehow "cancelled" by someone. Individual says they will call you when item arrives, but we always wind up calling. Supervisor claims she calls, but we never received any missed calls and she is very rude on the phone and in person. If you want quality customer service and things done correctly the first time, suggest you go to another store. Its definitely worth the drive to Florence...

I don’t normally do thing like this but The store manger at your local store in Sumter sc by the name of Ranate walked off while she was helping well I thought I came in with my grandpa to get my girlfriend a necklace and I was along about a necklace and they didn’t have it so I asked did they have more In my same price range so she showed me something higher then what I asked for and in the process she stopped helping me to help someone else and I stayed calm and got help from one of her good employees but I feel like she could have told me what’s going on instead of going about it that way but it’s fine I just want the company to know they have rude people messing...
