I am not a person to try and give a bad rating but I had a terrible experience at this location not because of the quality of food and service but the attitude of the employee, a young Black male cashier. On Friday, December 17, 2021, I came into the store, read the menu, made my selection based upon my taste buds and desire at that time. Then, placed my order with employee number 1, who was a White male wearing a red shirt. No problem, on to the second employee, a Black male wearing a light blue shirt with an Afro hair style. As I wait for my Tuna Fish Sandwich to be passed over to this employee, a third employee, a Black male wearing another light blue colored shirt and cap at the cashier said, “I can take your payment”in a rather low voice and since maybe I didn’t hear him the first time that he said it, he yelled it out again louder to get my attention and the entire store heard him. I turned to him and asked, “Can I finish making my sandwich first? I want to tell this employee that I am standing right here in front of what I would like on my sandwich.” The cashier apparently didn’t like my response so he begin to stare at me and mumbled, “That’s all you had to say.” Since when did buying a sandwich become confrontational? I fault the management because a customer should not be treated like this and no management official has anything to say to their employee. I told the cashier to stay in your lane since no one else was saying anything to this guy. I really wanted to snatch his a$$ across the counter but I have an image and manhood to protect as well. After all, I am a Black male professional. Another customer, Black female was seated at a table behind us who had already ordered but had not paid yet. Because she was observing what was taking place with me, she got up, approached the cashier and offered to pay although she had not been asked yet. But the cashier was still staring and locked in on me. He stated, “Why are you so mean?” I thought, “What? So I didn’t answer him). The Lady at the register advised the cashier to focus on her, she was the one standing right before him. Next, I questioned the employee preparing my sandwich and selected the ingredients for my sandwich. Now I was ready to checkout and pay for my order. As I was doing so, I advised the cashier that I didn’t care to keep that going I just wanted to finish making the sandwich that I ordered and now that I have done that and paying for my sandwich. That’s it for me, nothing else. Grab my bag and I left. I really like the plentifulness and quality of the food. But if this had happened to you, would you go back to...
Read moreJersey Mike's is overall overpriced sub sandwiches with too little options. This location in particular struggles with providing good service. It was better the last time that I visited, but the time previous I had issues with the manager who refused to give me the corporate office's contact information. He asked me what was wrong with my service, I told him, he yelled at me. (I did say that the service was lazy, which he took offense to.) I just visited again, and while the service is not great, it was much better than before. The manager that I had gotten into it with was pretty much the only one working. He sliced meat, worked the grill, and was topping the subs. There were 3 other employees present, but they were otherwise occupied or could only ring people up. So, I suppose he got angry because I called my service lazy and the guy is doing the work of 4 people. That makes sense, but that's missing the point that the customer experience is bad due to his ability to serve many customers at once being so limited by himself. I feel for the guy, but I still have to be honest. This type of issue with restaurant employees unwilling to work seems to be rampant in this Sandhills shopping center area. All but a few restaurants suffer from this unfortunately and I find myself avoiding them all due to...
Read moreWe travel from Florence to Columbia every 3 months to Palmetto Health Childrens Hospital Cancer Center for CT scans. After every clear scan he celebrates with a Jersey Mike sub and this is the location we always use, until now. On 10-23-18, he celebrated 33 months cancer free, my son orders a #13 Mikes way, no tomato, no onion, add mayo. I use the restroom, come back out to pay for his sandwich, we go to the car, he opens it and says it’s not a #13, there’s only turkey on it. So I take it back inside, tell them it’s not a #13, the girl who took his order said “he ordered a #7” to which I replied “no, he ordered a #13, I was standing right beside him when he ordered”. I was then told by the cashier I needed to move to the other end of the counter where they make the sandwiches (THERE WERE NO OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE). The girl who took my sons order then says to me “You need to let us know it’s wrong before we cut it and wrap it up”!!! I said he’s FOURTEEN and I was in the restroom and I can’t tell who’s sandwich is who’s (they were clearly making a catering order). No apologies were made, we will NEVER return to this establishment again. Thanks for...
