McDonald's — Restaurant in South Carolina

We stopped here on our way to our resort on HHI. We had been driving awhile and hadn't eaten lunch. So we thought we would grab something quick to hold us over. So he checked his app for any specials or coupons. They had one to buy one and get one for a dollar. And of course we had to have a large 🍟. We were going to get 2 quarter pounders and a large fry. We pulled in and the line for the drive thru was honestly about 15 cars deep with 2 lines. We have a 6mth old baby and he decided to just run in and see how it goes. It didn't look too crowded inside. We stayed in the truck with it running and he went in. It had been about 15mins and I was wondering what was going on. He texted after being inside for 20 mins and asked if we wanted to come in. He had placed the order on the kiosk and was waiting. After 30 mins he saw the car that we would have been behind and watched it leave the drive thru with their order. And he was still waiting. After 45-50mins he same out with the food. Let's just say it wasn't good. We expected with a wait that long that the food would be fresh and hot. The quarter pounders were lukewarm and the buns were hard, especially the bottom bun. The cheese was dried and glued to the burger. The fries were OK but the burgers were a bust and waste. Not sure what's going on with this McDonald's but they...

Simply put:terrible. No customers inside and I waited almost 10 minutes. I saw AT LEAST 8 employees but it seems they have zero situational awareness of what’s going on inside their restaurant. I finally ordered a Sausage McMuffin and waited an additional 10. I’ve been coming to Macdonald’s for many years all over the country. NEVER have I seen such a pathetic store. Also, there wasn’t a napkin in my bag (even though it was an eat in order) and no dispensers anywhere. I went to the counter w no customers and literally waited another 5 minutes. Unbelievable. Lastly, no condiments are offered except straws. I went back to the counter & w no customers had to wait, no kidding, another 3 minutes just for ketchup. NEVER seen anything like it. 40 minutes there for what should’ve been a quick 15 minutes at the most. Maybe all the Bluffton/HH Macdonald are like this. I’ll never go to one in this area ever again.

I pulled up to the window and hand to God, I thought Pearl had come down from her windowsill in heaven and decided to take our order. This woman was so funny and sweet. (And perhaps a little sarcastic in the best, motherly way possible) .My Mom and I could not stop laughing. SHE SOUNDED EXACTLY LIKE PEARL. When I drove up, there was no Pearl standing there to take my card, but a very kind lady who had probably thought I'd lost my dang mind when I stared at her in disbelief. (She was young and looked nothing like Pearl). I don't know who this lady is, but I love her. She is a gem. Give her all the raises and free fries to boot.

She just made our day just for being her! I stop here from time to time to get my Mom and I drinks and fries when I take her to appointments. The staff is always great and the food is always fresh.
