Oh my! This has been my favorite meal of our vacation. This is some of the best falafel I've ever eaten!
We were running late and decided on Olive & Fig. We thought it would be quick, cheap falafel sandwich like every other place we've ever been to. I realized when the server asked us if we had reservations that this place wasn't like the others! We walked in about 45 minutes before close. We didn't realize it was such a nice restaurant and that we were going to be there after they closed. The staff was great and we never felt rushed or felt like they were waiting for us. In fact, Tammy, the owner, came out and talked quite a bit before we left.
My wife and I had the falafel platter and my sons had a chicken schwarma and chicken kabob. Everyone really liked their food. I was worried my youngest was going to eat his side of fries and then say he wasn't hungry and not touch the kabob. Thankfully he didn't do that as both kids ate all their food.
Were used to cheap falafel and this was definitely not cheap. It turned out to be one of the most expensive meals we had on our trip. But the price is certainly justified. This was some of the best falafel I've ever had. All the stuff that goes with it was very flavorful too. I'm used to paying $8 for a falafel sandwich and this was x2 (+$2). My oldest and myself had a side of Batata Harra and my wife had Baba Ghanousch. All very good!
I've read about Lebanese cuisine before and have wanted to try it. I didn't meet Munjid but I do know he can cook! If we're ever in the Savannah or HHI area again we'll definitely be back.
The restaurant itself is very nice. Tammy mentioned that they are closing for a couple of months to remodel. She's got some custom art pieces that will be displayed when they reopen. We were impressed with the lighting and light fixtures. They were like a set of stain glass orbs. They are so pretty!
Thank you Olive & Fig for the...
Read moreTucked away on Hilton Head Island, Olive and Fig Mediterranean Kitchen is a true gem serving a vibrant mix of Lebanese and Greek flavors. I stopped in for lunch this week and was absolutely blown away. I ordered the chicken and beef shawarma combination, and it was beyond perfection—tender, full of flavor, and cooked just right. I added a side of Lebanese pitas, which were soft, warm, and the perfect companion to the meal.
Their house-made sauces, like the tahini, were packed with fresh flavor and clearly crafted with care. Every bite felt intentional and authentic.
The staff offered that rare kind of old-world service—genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It made the experience feel special from start to finish.
Inside, the space is clean and beautifully decorated with bold, artistic murals and vibrant color. The bar stands out with copper accents and a creative wall finish made from old wine crates. Their liquor selection is one of the most eclectic I’ve seen in a long time. They even had a vodka from Greece made with olives—something I’d never seen before.
There’s a parking lot out front, though the shopping center can be busy, so you might have to circle around on certain days. They also offer a couple of dog-friendly tables outside for well-behaved pups, which is a nice touch.
The menu is full of incredible-sounding options, and I truly wish I lived closer so I could come back and try more. Olive and Fig is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for top-tier Mediterranean cuisine in a warm and...
Read moreVery very poor experience. We were a party of 7 who went there for dinner. They took a lot of time to get us seated. The waitress checked if we want any drinks at first and then took a while to come to get our food order for dinner. We gave our food order and waited and waited for 1 hr and nothing showed up. The waitress did not even come back to check to refill water. Finally the kiddie soup order showed up and that is it. People who were seated after us were served food and left the restaurant but none of us got any appetizers or entrees. When we checked after an hour of waiting we were told it will take a while for our food to show up. Just our table was not serviced and we were not given any attention. Such a rude service and almost seems targeted because our table was the only one with mixed ethnic group. None of us expected such a poor service from this restaurant and it is highly disappointing to feel like we were targeted particularly. We just left after waiting for food for more than an hour still hungry and disappointed. I can't even rate the food as no food was served and had we waited I'm sure we would have left hungry and angry for the biased treatment. Response to owner comment - we weren't told it's an hour long wait to serve food when we got seated. No one checked on us ( not even a single time) during our one hour wait. So I don't know which table the owner is thinking about but we saw many others seated post us and serviced. So they should be upfront about servicing larger groups when we have no...
