Waffle House — Restaurant in South Carolina

Arrived at 12:45 approximately. Was told to wait so some people could be checked out.4 additional people come in and the lady at the register completely ignores me and takes their order and then has the audacity to ask if I have placed my order. I asked for 2 sausage, egg, and cheese has brown bowls. After about an hour of waiting because I was skipped on purpose (I did call her out and she didn’t care, she actually looked like she was high as a kite,) the cook asked who’s hash brown bowl it was that he was cooking. I told him, I don’t know what she told you but I clearly told her I wanted two and not one. He calmly said that he would make another two bowls so that the food was fresh and that it would be about 7 minutes. “I told them, an additional 7 minutes, like really? I’ve already been skipped four times and my roofer gets screwed up and now another 7 minuets.” The thing is that I waited an hour after I arrived to get my food. I get home and I open the bag and come to find out the girl gave me the wrong freaking bad. The bag she gave me contained two all stars with no meat at all whatsoever. Remember I asked for two has brown bowls! When I say that she was high on drugs, she really was. She even through a spoon at one of the customers that was dinning in. It’s freaking unbelievable! This happened today 03/18/2021 from 12:45am through 1:50am. Not that they care but i will never go there again. Terrible...

Just like anything else there's lots of restaurant chains, fast food chains and diner chains and there's good and bad within each of those places. So on the one hand this is a waffle house just like any of the other waffle houses and it's the same menu and the same food but I can say on every level this one is better! How can this one be better and I'd even go as far as saying this one is the best! The cooks here are all top notch excellent cooks and they cook the food perfectly here, the waitstaff (I only know about the 1st/morning shift) they are all very friendly and just a great bunch of people and you can't go wrong dealing with any of them, what a great group of people...some of the you'll ever encounter in this business. So this waffle house is different from all the other waffle houses and I would call this one the best! Update 10-26-24 I've been coming here for a couple years now and I've been to a lot of waffle houses growing up so since I was a teen and so 30 some odd years of waffle houses all over the state and dozens of waffle houses. This is the best waffle house I've ever been to and the best waitress is Kayla, if you go here Kayla and Thomas are the best at what they do and some of the nicest friendliest people you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting! We ordered 2 waffles but only received one. The reason is because the second waffle never did cook properly, and they spent more than 15 minutes trying to get it to cook on all 8 waffle irons, only to have it stick and fall apart on every griddle. The cook said that the problem was because the irons were supposed to have been replaced a week ago or longer. Then someone else comes in and says the batter was made wrong and had too much water in it. Whatever, all I know is I couldn't get a waffle, and that was the sole reason for going to Waffle House in the first place. I was finally served a "waffle" that was crushed and in multiple pieces, and LONG after the rest of my table's food was eaten. To make matters worse, they couldn't even find a way to take it off my bill.

I get that Waffle House is a discount restaurant chain, but the parent company needs to invest at least a small amount of money into training employees in basic customer service. Just taking the waffle off my bill would have had a huge effect. The 2 stars I rated it was solely because the rest of the order came out quickly...
