I am writing this letter to express the outstanding experience my family and I received from staying at your hotel this past weekend. We hosted our Family Reunion and chose Spartanburg, SC as the hosting location and chose your hotel, along with the four surrounding ones, as the select places for our family members to reside. There were approximately 100 family members in attendance representing eleven different states! The feedback I received from my family members (minus one incident relating to a dog), was more than flattering. From A-Z, the interaction with Maryanne Charlton to the staff, the customer service and professionalism provided was beyond exemplary. Maryanne was the most gracious, accommodating, efficient professional I’ve ever experienced in the hotel industry. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable and memorable, for all the right reasons, as she stated she would. It is noticeable that her role as Director of Sales is one, she takes seriously and with passion. Her kindness and genuineness come from her loving and caring spirit.
When the lawn area that was reserved for us to host our picnic was destroyed by a construction worker parking a huge multiple ton lift onto it, compounded by the massive rain, Maryanne stepped in and offered a creative solution. She recommended her Residence Inn’s courtyard area. She even helped setup tents herself, had her staff clean the grill for us, and made sure our needs were met, all in preparation for our picnic! In the end, this turned out to be a much better option than the initial lawn area!
In addition, the staff of 1881 setup the area with tables, chairs, linen, and provided superb professionalism and support, that helped get the picnic going.
Each family member who stayed at the Residence Inn shared how much they loved staying there, the convenient location for the picnic, and how they “loved” interacting with Maryanne. She was so pleasant and responsive to each of our needs and her staff was just as courteous and attentive. For example, I asked for assistance from the front desk staff for help getting relatives to their Uber. They were so kind to grant my request by ensuring my two elderly relatives (i.e., ladies in their 80s) who both were either wheelchair bound or walked slowly on a cane, were able to access their Uber transportation without fear by verifying it was an Uber driver. I was even called once my relatives were in the vehicle and on their way to the airport! That’s customer service at its best!
I could go on and on with expressing how grateful and satisfied I was with Maryanne and the Staff of Residence Inn for helping to make our weekend event a memorable one, but will end with this, if you ever need a recommendation on your behalf, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I would be more than willing to share my experience. Note: Maryanne Charlton is an absolute jewel perfectly suited for the hospitality industry! I will continue to keep in touch with her and recommend Residence Inn as the 'place of choice to stay' whenever visitors ask me where they should stay.
Although, my wife and I live only 15-20 miles away from Spartanburg in Duncan, SC, we are willing to spend a night or weekend at your Residence Inn just to get the feeling of being away from home. :)
Lastly the motto in SC is, “Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina.” I can confidently and equally say, ‘There is nothing finer than to stay at the Residence Inn in Spartanburg, South...
Read moreI would say i was highly un satisfied with this stay. I am in the US Army and I had just gotten back into Sc from assisting a state during a hurricane. As a bonvoy member I expected to have no issues because I was using my reward points to stay for the night. I expected a simple check in due to me making reservations before and given nothing but above satisfactory in my past stays but on this particular day that was not the case. I asked the reservation rep several times if I had I to pay anything in addition to me using my reward points for the stay and I was told that I would have to pay nothing. After being told that information I went to the selected Marriott hotel and went to check in at the front desk. At the front desk I was told that I would have to pay a deposit before I would be able to check in. I then explained to the desk rep that i was informed i would not have to pay anything. The desk rep only stated that I was misinformed and did not suggest any other options. I then had to leave the hotel to add money to a card to bring back just to check in. I then was charged twice for the stay on both cards that were used to check in and to reserve the room. I believe that the inconvenience and the over charging of my debit cards should result in either a reimbursement of the reward points or another free night stay. This experience was nothing of Marriott’s character “To enhance the lives of our customers by creating and enabling unsurpassed vacation and leisure...
Read moreWe are Hilton Diamond Members and are very picky about our hotels and this Fairfield Inn lived up to our standards. We weren’t happy with the choice of Hiltons nearby based on reviews so we decided to stay here and are glad we did. Linda was so amazing, helpful and kind and helped us multiple times as we called in to ask questions. Not once did she ever make us feel rushed or like we were bothering her. All of the staff seemed lovely and happy to be there. We didn’t interact with them much but when we did see them they were smiling and looked ready to help if needed. We used a digital key (big thanks to Linda for her help with that) so we didn’t do a traditional checkin. We just walked right by the front desk and they smiled and went straight to our room. It worked great! This is a solid hotel! We never heard any noise from other rooms and even though we were on the highway side (which they were kind enough to mention ahead of time) they provided earplugs in the room and we didn’t have any issues at all. We do always take a sound machine with us though, so that always makes a big difference! The hotel was very clean and we really enjoyed our stay. We had a nice kitchen area with a full size fridge, microwave, stovetop, dishwasher and coffee maker (the hotel kind where you have to use their coffee packs). We would absolutely stay there again in the future...
