On our way to North Carolina, we had been on the road traveling for hours, 3 states. We decided to take a break and stop at this Waffle House to get something to drink, take a bathroom break, and stretch out our legs for a while. When we got there you couldn’t see a worker in sight. When we walked in the door, we saw someone sitting at the back table on their phone. There was no greeting, we spoke and asked how they were doing. No response. This counter was dirty, and the floors had napkins all over the floor. They asked us if we were eating in or going. We told them we were just getting drinks, but it would be for there. Before we even got our drinks, another person walked in and asked if we had paid yet - they said no and he kept repeating the price of our bill over and over. I just got up and paid it, still not having my drink. It was not a very welcoming place at all. And, I found it very rude to insist that I pay before I ever got my order. This kind of service has never been received at any other Waffle House, and working in food service for more than 14 years—this would never be tolerated at any point!!! Needless to say, thank goodness this is not my local Waffle House. If it had been, I would never step foot in there again. And definitely, would NEVER recommend to anyone. I promise, I will NEVER stop there during travels. They were very rude and very...
Read moreWalked in and, as usual, was greeted with a Good Morning. Sat down and ordered the All Star breakfast. My waiter was Deshawn. He was impressive. Friendly, helpful, good conversation, and kept my coffee topped off! Todd prepared my breakfast and everything came out hot and as ordered. The one thing I noticed that pushed this Waffle House above others was that they bring your waffle out ahead of the other food so you have a chance to butter it while it is right off the griddle. Thank You Deshawn, for that! Restaurant was clean. ALSO, I was there at shift change in the morning and thought it very cool that the crew coming on and the crew going off got along so well. Lots of laughter! I wrapped up, tipped my waiter and cook, and left with a good feeling about this...
Read moreI understand that it is hard to find workers. My family went into the Pelham Rd., Greer SC Waffle House and they have tables blocked off with signs saying not to sit there. My family waited in line. A construction crew came in, the staff spoke to them as if they knew them and the workers sat at one of the tables posted not to sit at. No one bothered to ask if we were waiting including the waitress. She just began waiting on them with us standing there waiting on a table. You would think they would have told us if it was ok to sit at the table with a sign on it or would have told them we were waiting. We were not spoken to when we entered like we are at other waffle houses. They just ...
