Mountain Mike's Pizza — Restaurant in South Jordan

I’ve been here before and had good experiences but was really disappointed tonight. The center of the pizza was doughy, and the pepperoni tasted off and like really cheap, fake pepperoni. My husband asked it was CiCis pizza after trying it. They forgot the icing/dip with the dessert pizza. Our food was sitting there for a good 10 mins under the heater while I had been waiting for a while (I was early to pick up). I gave the girl my name, she said it wasn’t ready yet. She later brought an order out and dropped a box on the ground. She must have been frazzled by that but turns out it was my order and she never called my name. She also picked the dropped box off the floor and stacked it with the pizza. I don’t know if anything fell out of that box of not. The girl sat there on her cell phone while I was the only one waiting. I asked another employee for an update on my order after a bit and he let me know the order she brought out 10 mins before was it. But I was feeling a little frustrated at that point and didn’t even ask or object about the box of mozzarella sticks she dropped. I left, my family was thrilled I picked up Mountain Mikes pizza but were all disappointed in the flavor. So now in the disappointment I’m thinking back and seeing all these little things add up. And I remembered the woman’s bathroom was out of soap. They clearly watered down what was in the bottle but there was barely a few drops of that.

This place is not cheap either, it’s been worth it in the past but I would never recommend them based off tonight. It was strange when I placed the order online, the charge popped up on my phone as “Dominos” for the same amount. Maybe they got bought out recently and thats why...

In my reviews of eateries I will constantly talk about "management." This is what separates really great places from mediocre to awful places. This South Jordan Mountain Mikes has excellent management. If you go for lunch, this is represented in a very clean place and a full buffet table with premium choices of pizza. The salad bar could be improved however with bright clean lettuce that is cold soaked in ice water before serving. This crisps it and makes it crunchy and appealing. And this lettuce must be kept cold and moist in the salad bar. MM here is not quite there on that. So still some room for improvement but I give a rare pass here b. people ain't coming here for the salad. The pizza at this MM is xlnt. A perfect non-sweet crust (shame on you Papa Murphys and Pizza Hut) that rests between thick and thin. The toppings you'll see here are the best in the business: roasted sausage, crispy pepperoni (oh so good), real fresh tomatoes, crisp green peppers and onions, lots of black olives, high quality ham, and good pineapple (yes, a great topping on pizza deal with it). And these ingredients are mounded on every slice even on the lunch buffet pizza all while avoiding the watery, gross grease fest of other pizzas. Each slice is perfectly cooked. Well done MM SJ. I took my family here a few weeks ago and ordered a 12" pizza, a couple drinks, and mozzarella sticks. When we walked in the tables were not bussed and there was only one associate at the register. When we asked about bussing tables, it was very obvious he was flustered but was kind about bussing the tables as soon as he took our order. We helped him clean up just to ease the stress. While giving my order, the associate was distracted and I had to repeat my order a few times but he was attentive enough to save us some money by modifying The McKinley instead of creating our own. That was greatly appreciated. Once I had my family sat, we noticed lots of folks coming in and out which further stressing out the poor associate that he forgot to give us our drink cups and utensils. We got our pizza within 15 minutes though and it was delicious. The food runner asked us if anything else was missing and I reminded him of our mozzarella sticks. He said he'd bring them right out but they didn't come out and by the time we had almost finished our pizza, I reminded the associate of the sticks and he admitted that he didn't add them to the order although I had given him my order a few times. We weren't super upset but he was extremely apologetic and made it right by getting us those on the house.
