We went through the drive through on Saturday around 5, the place had a decent amount of customers but was not overly crowded or busy inside or out. Having never been before I assumed the list of flavors at the top were their ice cream flavors and ordered an Oreo single cone and a brownie single cone. The person over the speaker confirmed this order. When we got to the window it took over five minutes for someone to even talk to us. When they did they asked “oreo S.C. And brownie S.C?” Now, I don’t work there and I don’t know their internal lingo so I assumed S.C. meant Single Cone, which was what I’d asked for, the first red flag was what he said next. He yelled over his shoulder for someone to make Oreo and brownie “toppers”. I was confused but the window was closed again so my friend and I waited. Another few minutes go by as someone makes our order. Finally the man at the window asks for payment, and after that a girl walks up to the window holding two cups of vanilla custard with toppings. I clarify to her that I asked for cones. She stood there and stared at me for a minute before turning to the man who had taken our order. After they spoke he proceeded to tell me that I had ordered “S.C. Toppers”. I said that I asked for a single cone and had no idea what he meant by “topper”. He called yet another person over. A couple minutes of conversation later this third person stuck his head out the window to tell us that cones only come in a few flavors, vanilla, chocolate, and something else. Nothing on the menu indicates this, but okay. I asked for chocolate cones and figured we’d be in our way. At this point we’d been sitting at the drive through window for like 15 minutes. Another few minutes went by before the first cone was brought to us, followed by the second a couple minutes after that. If the confusion and ridiculously long service time weren’t enough the cones themselves came out looking like they’d been made by a toddler five minutes before we got them. The pictures I’ve included were taken immediately after the cones were passed to us. The differences between a cup with toppings and a cone is about a dollar each. I was not offered back the difference and to be honest I didn’t ask. I don’t like causing issues for service people. But it was not a good experience at all.
I’m giving it two stars instead of one because the chocolate custard...
Read moreI love Nielsen’s, but tonight was a terrible experience. I ordered from their walk-up to-go window. Got there around 9:00 pm and didn’t have my complete order until 9:45. I ordered one FC topper, a kid's cheeseburger meal, and one corn dog. They brought out the concrete first. After waiting about 15 minutes for my food to come out, my FC topper was almost completely melted. I asked if my food was ready and they hadn’t even made it yet, all while groups of people were getting their food who’d ordered after me. I also showed them that the ice cream had melted and they offered to make me a new one and keep it in the freezer while they made my food, which was nice. Another 15 minutes go by and half of my food is done. They gave me my burger and fries. I told the gentleman that I also ordered a corn dog, and I still needed the drink for the meal and the replacement ice cream. He made it seem like he was going to check on it, so I sat back down to wait. 10 more minutes go by and most of the staff (including the last gentleman I spoke with) are kind of just walking around chatting with each other as it’s getting close to closing. I walk up to the window again and the gentleman that said they’d remake the ice cream asked me if I had received my food yet. I explained to him that I had only received half of my order, what I was missing, that I had spoken to several people, and that I had been waiting for 30-40 minutes to receive my complete order. He sincerely apologized and helped me on getting the remainder of my order. I was the very last person outside to get their order. Everyone that had ordered after me had already eaten and left. I decided to just eat the food in my car because it was so late by that point. …and the fries were stale and the corn dog was undercooked and doughy. I wish I wouldn’t have wasted my money and just gone somewhere else. I’m giving two stars to the one gentleman that helped me, and because their custard was really good. But MAN! this restaurant needs to have a manager or some type of organizational system in place!!! It’s all a bunch of high school students working the place. So yeah, when it gets close to closing time I don’t...
