My brother and I heard about this place from a friend and thought we’d try it out since we both love Bingsoo. We came in on Tuesday, 7/25 and Immediately the thing that caught my attention was the vulgar music that was playing. It was completely uncensored and constantly dropping F bombs and describing very inappropriate actions that had no place in a sweet shop. I couldn’t believe they were playing that while little kids were coming in and out and sitting inside the establishment. It was so hard for me to enjoy my Bingsoo because the music was so distracting. It seemed like it was just a bunch of high school kids working and not one adult in sight. I finally went up and asked the girl standing at the register if she could turn on music more appropriate and she said she would but then I saw her leave with her phone out the front. The awful music was still playing! I went up again and asked the young man handing out orders and he finally turned on more appropriate music. I’m not sure if it was changed back to the rap music they were listening to when I left but at least for the last 10 minutes I wasn’t hearing every curse word under the sun. As for the Bingsoo it was good! I had the mango and my brother got the strawberry. Unfortunately the Taro flavored Taiyaki fell short. I’ve had Taiyaki many times before and the flavor was off and so was the consistency of the batter. I might give this place another chance and I hope the music will be better and maybe I’ll try another Taiyaki flavor. Hopefully it was just an off day.

Just got home from this place and it's great. I had an Oreo taiyaki soft serve with a fresh made taiyaki. Taiyaki is more or less a sweet batter stuffed with other ingredients, and cooked in the shape of a fish using special molds, and it was the best I've ever had, tbh. (though I've only had a few fresh, and I'm not a fan of red bean paste in the first place) My wife got mango bingsoo, it was served in a really cute way, and she loved it, though couldn't finish the whole thing (they're pretty big). Now, I normally don't like mango, but it was also so good. The texture was completely different than what I imagined (I was imagining something like Italian ice with cream on top like Rita's) but the texture was more like frozen cotton candy and melted in your mouth just as quickly. It was fantastic. The bad reviews seem to all be about service times. When we went, it was later in the evening, and it was just one worker, but she was quick, informative and really kind. So maybe they're slower at busier times, but with everything made to order, you can't expect too much speed. Be patient, it's worth it

Checked out this place on a date over the weekend. My date was telling me how delicious & unique their take on ice cream was. We got there a couple hours before closing but they were running out of the milk mixture for the ice cream so we were only able to order one small bingsoo. I tried the fresh mango bingsoo & it was pretty dang good! The mango was yummy & the ice cream was very different textures with the shavings but really cool to try something so different. My date ended up ordering a Root Beer Vanilla Float since they ran out of the milk mixture. We were a little confused when it was served with cubed ice in this root beer float. It made it more watered down. I’ve never seen this happen! A little disappointed to not be able to order two Bingsoo ice cream dishes. There were several after us trying to order them & let down as well. Cool to try. The menu seemed like the specialized more in drink options, such as milk tea, fruit tea more than maybe the Bingsoo ice cream.

Update: I was reached out to quickly and the issues have been resolved. They were very kind, and I hope they are able to get things back in order soon :)

I went to Sweet & Cool the first week that it opened, and was obsessed with it! The bingsoo was delicious, and the staff on duty was diligent. I've been a consistent customer since the opening date, and can I just say... this place has spiraled downhill SO quick. Every time I go in it's extremely dirty and swarming with bugs. It takes forever to get anything I've ordered, and the staff could not care any less about their customers.

But today? Oh today was the icing on the cake. I went in and purchased 2 teas and 2 taiyaki. There were two people working who were more preoccupied with their gaggle of friends that had been sitting in the store than cleaning/making our order. My brother and I went to sit down and were grossed out because the table was atrocious, the floor was covered in smeared oreo and spilled drinks, and the chairs had sticky stuff all over them. It took about 15+ minutes to receive our order, and we wound up leaving immediately because of the hoard of teenager friends that were preoccupying the staff. When we opened our box of taiyaki, we were horrified to see that both of them had A TON of hair and lint baked in, and they weren't even fully cooked. I'm not one to usually write complaints. I hate making people feel bad, as I work in a cafe myself and usually understand the occasional slip up. But this? This was awful. I spent nearly $20 on food/drinks that were inedible due to the copious amount of hair that was baked in and the fact that it was extremely undercooked. I didn't even bother driving back to get a refund or a replacement for the food because I didn't want to deal with the staff or their...

Unfortunately I didn’t find this place good at all. I really wanted to like it- but I can’t say it was good unfortunately.

In my 24 years of life on this earth I have NEVER sent a drink or food item back before. But the taro boba was so grainy and chunky I had to ask for a different drink. I looked online at reviews bc I was so baffled at how bad this drink was (esp for $6!) I saw another reviewer have the exact same drink with the same experience. To the owner who responded to her review- I have had many Taro boba teas in my life and I have never had one with that texture. I don’t think it was mixed properly. I really think you need to examine the drink and tweak the recipe and if you can’t make the texture work you should pull it off the menu. A $6 drink should be absolutely perfect.

The staff was extremely nice and accommodating and were quick both times they made my drink. The place also looked extremely clean and pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately both drinks I had were not great.

The mango tea that I got as a replacement was marginally better- I didn’t have to choke It down. But again for the price it wasn’t worth it at all. It felt like it was mango juice and honey. Sickeningly sweet. Honestly I thought about asking for another drink but I felt so bad to do it to the employees again and didn’t want to be difficult.

Again, I need to emphasize I am not a picky person or high maintenance. I have never done this before. But it really was the worst drink I’ve had in my life.

I really hope the owner listens to the reviews and makes changes accordingly. It’s such a cute shop and I want it to succeed. Although I probably won’t be...
