I really hate to do this because I like building small businesses up and not break them down. However, this was completely inexcusable. I cam to San with a friend for breakfast. They handed us a crumbled up menu that looked like it had gotten hit my a truck. The menu was also dirty and made us almost leave right off the bat. The waitress then came out and did not speak any English. This is nothing new in Miami, but made it very complicated to order. Once we ordered, the food took a very long time. We both ordered veggie omelets with toast. The eggs tasted microwaved and the toast was seriously awful ad served dry. We asked for. ketchup, hot sauce and butter to help drown out the disgusting taste. The ketchup was nearly molded with old congealed ketchup clumped on the edges of the container. She also handed us canola oil based butter that was a spray bottle to be used on the toast. It was DISGUSTING. Also this is supposed to be a healthy place... GROSS. This doesnt even begin to explain why I am writing this review though. When we asked for tap water we were given bottled water. We went to return the bottles because that isn't what we wanted and they would not give us any other water to drink with our meal. We then went to pay for this food that could have been made by a five year old and were told that our total was $45 for two omelets?! Online each one was listed as being $11, so this made no sense. We did ask for cheese so figured that may be $13 each which is still only $26. We asked if a service charge had been added or if they charged us for something else and she said no, but that the prices went up. NO WHERE did it say the prices had increased. There was no sign, the prices on the gross menu she handed us displayed the same "fake" prices as online, and if you scan the menu on the QR code at each table it was also $11.... She then proceeded to show us one QR code on the counter that in tiny font said prices are subject to change. Even then how $26 becomes $45 is beyond me. Eggs are not that expensive.... Unbelievable. This place was a disaster and the location could be easily filled by another small business that cares about the community, their food and business even an ounce more than this and it would be 10X better. If you are looking for great inexpensive breakfast go somewhere else like Bagel Emporium, Gables Cafe, or even Whole Foods could do...
Read moreDelicious food! Good lunch specials and great healthy choices. I enjoyed the arepa made of quinoa and beets filled with chicken and avocado for $8.99. I added feta cheese for $2.50. It was a great combination of flavors. Light but great substance for a healthy meal. They also have other arepa flavors available, such as cassava, quinoa and spinach, and plantain. I can't wait to go back and try them all!
We also ordered the lunch special for $12.99 includes a protein, two sides and soup of the day. We chose the salmon with roasted eggplant and quinoa. The soup of the day was pumpkin cream. Soup was a bit too watery so it was not easy to eat but it was tasty. I just wish it had a bit more consistency. Everything was delicious even when it was cooked in a healthy manner with less salt and extra condiments.
I saw they had many cookies and desserts that are made with healthier choices of ingredients but I found them to be too expensive. A very small box of vanilla coconut cookies for $9.99 or mini alfajores small box for $13.99. These prices were a bit high for me. I can make a pound of almond coconut cookies at home for way less. They also have different types of homemade cakes, such as, carrot, cacao, and zuchinni for around $7 a piece. They also make juices and smoothies starting at $8 (also a bit pricey). Everything looked great.
The establishment is very small but clean and organized. The lady taking care of us was very friendly and helpful. They speak Spanish and English. Street parking available by pay by phone. They are opened during this pandemic following social distancing and offering takeout. I believe they also have some delivery services depending of the area.
Great place for a quick healthy lunch! Food is truly delicious.
Tip: Always ask for daily specials because they have some...
Read moreIt was so bad I would give them a zero. They forgot my food. The food my friends shared with me was overpriced and subpar at best. They got my friend’s order wrong. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. The server took our order and then never looked at us again. Both my friends got their order. Everyone in the restaurant got their order. I had to call her to ask her about my order. She said it was dessert so she assumed we wanted it at the end. Although, we all ordered separately. My friends finished their food and we sat waiting for the check for 40 minutes. I had to go to the counter to ask for the check. I asked if they could discount my 10$ coffee because they forgot my breakfast order. I got .49 cents off. The manager gave us the check, the server gave her the to go order, she didn’t even acknowledge us. We told the manager about our experience. She didn’t even apologize! She was combating us with a plethora of excuses that they got busy and basically forgot. At this point I was fuming and had to tell her “ stop with the excuses and just say you’re sorry”. We couldn’t even get a simple sorry from this...
