I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shah of Kabob in Fort Lauderdale with a couple of friends, and I canât recommend it highly enough! From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly greeted by our server, Jose, who made us feel right at home. After a long day of moving apartments, we were starving and decided to order the Shahâs Family Platter, which is designed to serve 5-7 people. As three hungry guys, we found it to be a generous feast!
The platter was a delightful assortment of skewers, featuring a mix of beef and lamb, incredibly juicy marinated chicken, and perfectly cooked tenderloin chunks. Each bite was bursting with flavor, complemented by perfectly grilled tomatoes, warm pita bread, and refreshing sides of Mast Khiar (a creamy yogurt dip) and Shirazi Salad (a vibrant mix of onion, cucumber, and tomato).
Although the Fort Lauderdale location doesn't have the full Sweet Manifesto menu, they do offer their popular Baklava Cheesecake, which is an absolute must-try! The cheesecake is velvety smooth, harmoniously combining the sweetness of cream cheese with the aromatic charm of rose water and nutty pistachios, paying homage to classic Persian flavors. Each bite offers a delightful contrast: the creamy cheesecake melts in your mouth, perfectly complemented by the crunchy texture of phyllo dough and pistachios. The nutty flavor and ethereal fragrance of rose water create a sensory experience thatâs both indulgent and refreshing. We ordered it to go because we were truly full, but we couldnât miss the opportunity to indulge in that sweet delight.
A special shoutout to our fantastic server, Jose! His attentive service truly made our meal even more enjoyable. When we requested extra rice and Mast Khiar, he surprised us with complimentary portions, which was such a nice touch.

I was first introduced to Persian food at work. A coworker of mine bought it as a potluck dish from his family's restaurant. Ever since then, I'd found and been meaning to make my way to Shahs of Kabob (no this isn't my coworker's family's restaurant).
Immediately when I walked in, I knew I was going to have a good experience. The gentlemen that were on staff this afternoon were absolutely outstanding. They greeted me upon walking in, was very attentive and made sure that I was able to taste the different sauces.
I went with the Koobideh Kabob Large Plate; I had my son with me so I had to share. I'd seen from the pictures that they allow you to get half rice and half salad; which is what I went for. Next time though, perhaps I'll just get all salad. I'm trying to watch my girlish figure. LOL!
The large platter came with 2 kabobs; thank goodness. I had one and gave one to my son. The salad had cucumber (I think; I kind of inhaled it), onions and there may have been some chopped tomatoes. I don't eat regular dressing, so once I got home I put apple cider vinegar and olive oil on the salad. The rice was good but the vinegar from the salad enhanced the flavor.
He also gave me some pita bread or something along those lines. When I tell you pure heaven! I'm chewing on some right now as I write this.
Initially I'd told myself that I wouldn't come back because of the parking situation. I had to circle the block twice to find parking. And it's not that it wasn't any parking, I just didn't want to pay to park and I didn't. Hehe. In the future though, I will just order ahead and pull up in front to get it. Win/win
Shahs of Kabob will certainly be...
Read moreFirst review âGood kebab.â. Now I have been coming here for over 6 months on a regular basis. Time for another review. Always great service. Great circulation of costumers (I believe this type of high customer volume creates a situation where almost everything is always fresh). Iâve been trying their different types of beef kebabs. Filet mignon skewer is top notch, juicy and great tasting kebab. The one thatâs called chengeh is also great as itâs the same meat only this time smaller chunks of beef. My favorite is though the Kobideh, which is basically some ground beef and some ground lamb mixture, cooked on a skewer. A very unique kebab. Some version of this style is also famous in Turkey, namely Adana kebab and Urfa kebab. Anyways, strongly recommend the place if this is your type of food. Probably only a very few places in US have this level of quality that is similar to what you could taste in mid east with a reasonable price tag. Not the mention the folks working there who seems to get along well as a team while I havenât observed any personnel turnover which is really hard to achieve in small...
