I originally had a breast augmentation in 1990, with Dow Corning Silicon implants. I knew at some point I would either have to remove or replace. Being in the medical field as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly of breast augmentation, revision, reduction and reconstructive surgery. I thankfully never had any issues with my original surgery and was not experiencing any problems. I was hesitant, but knew that there was no guarantee that after so many years that I could actually have or would develop a problem in the future.
I began to research Plastic surgeons with experience not only in breast augmentation, but specifically revisions. I originally saw a female surgeon in Boca Raton, who suggested I go smaller with replacing. Another male surgeon in Delray who said what I wanted was not realistic, another in Fort Lauderdale, that sadly seemed more into performing quantity rather than quality. I even flew out to Dallas to consult with a Plastic surgeon that does research and teaching techniques for breast implants and revisions. His recommendation was replacement , along with a breast lift, which would leave more scarring. Since I was out of state he did recommend a practice in Miami that had surgeons experienced in breast implant revisions.
I personally am more comfortable with a female so, I scheduled a consult with Dr. Jackie Yee, at Baker Plastic Surgery. From scheduling an appointment for a consult all the way through scheduling my breast revision surgery the staff were extremely professional and courteous. Dr. Yee was truly the first out of all the consults I had, that really listened to my concerns and what I wanted. She took the time to explain and reassure me that what I wanted could be done. I wanted to replace the silicon implant with the same size, avoid having a breast lift and additional incisions. I was appreciative of her professionalism and bedside manner, that I scheduled my surgery that same day!
I had previously had issues with post-op nausea and was reassured by the anesthesiologist, Dr. Luis Ramirez that all my concerns would be taken very seriously. Being in the medical field, I am much better at being a practitioner than a patient! I truly was terrified, I knew I had to do this sooner or later and finally found a surgeon and practice in whom I truly felt confident. All my questions and concerned were always answered.
So, fast forward, I had my surgery November 19th and at 2 weeks post-op, can definitely say, it was the best decision I have made! Everything went so smoothly and I found out that one of my implants, actually had a very small leak! Thankfully I did this before it became a true complication. I am extremely happy with my results, even though I know it will be a while for full recovery.
Anyone who is looking for an experienced and compassionate plastic surgeon, look no further, I highly recommend Dr. Jackie Yee. If I had an option for rating, I would definitely rate this practice a 10! Trust me, I have worked in the medical field since 1985 and have seen a lot of things that can go wrong when individuals take short cuts and look for “bargains”! When it comes to your health and well being, don’t take chances with “cookie...
Read moreI came to Dr. Baker for symastia correction/ revision after a terrible breast augmentation I had with a previous Dr located in South Beach. Dr. Baker assured me that he could repair symnastia and I would be in great hands. I found him online and thought he would be the Dr to make my breast nightmare go away. I had done many months of research on how symnastia is repaired so I had an idea of what kind of surgery I was to expect. I met with him and scheduled my surgery. We did not discuss how the surgery was performed but I went ahead and scheduled anyway because I was young and naive (22 yrs old) and desperate to repair my breasts. I was so excited and couldn't wait to wake up with my new breasts. He told me I would get high profile and we agreed by going smaller it would help with the implants from touching. After surgery, I didn't notice much difference in my breast only that way were smaller. I still had symnastia. I expressed my concerns about the implants still touching and he just said roll some gauze and put it in-between your breasts, so I did but I knew that this was not the way the repair was suppose to be. So I went home and months later still had the issue so I went back to the office and he then suggested we do another surgery to do some liposuction in-between my breast. I found it strange but I agreed and went under surgery again. I should have known that he had no experience in symnastia repair after he promised and assured me he would get the job done. Months after I didn't notice any difference but that now I just went under two more surgeries to be disappointed. I went back and expressed my concerns and he just told me I didn't have symnastia and that is the way my body is. Two surgeries and about $8,000.00 later he tells me he can't do anything about it. I was in shock and got very depressed. I didn't think about having surgery after that because of what I have just gone though in the past 3 years. I have learned to deal with what I have and moved on with life trying my best not to think about it. I will never recommend anyone to Dr. Baker. Now, 6 years later, I am going to see a highly experienced Dr in the Ft. Lauderdale area to do my final...
Read moreI am a new patient (of almost a year) of Dr.Yee's and I travel from Dallas, TX to see her. I came to her with specific issues of asymmetry of my face, a scar on my lip, and hollow cheeks. Being an athletic person, it is difficult to keep fullness in my face, and having a cross bite that was not corrected by orthodontia, I presented several issues. Dr. Yee's approach is unique to each individual, knowing exactly how to counterbalance imperfections - she is an artist in helping her clients achieve their beauty goals. My face required substantial filler injections to overcome my structural issues, and she not only corrected those with her skill and knowledge, she gave me 10-15 years of youth back to my face. My scar is now invisible, my face youthful and symmetrical, and my confidence regained - she has corrected lifelong issues that have bothered me for many years. It was a truly magical experience. Aside from her expertise, she is genuinely a caring and kind person, as is her entire staff. Her office bright and cheerful, modern and fun - a wonderful experience all around. When I leave, I can't wait to go back. And I have had more compliments from numerous people about my youthful appearance. Coming from a market of Doctors everywhere, I trust Dr.Yee like no other, and I will continue my trips to Miami to...
