Smokin Chicken & Pizza — Restaurant in South Plainfield

Came in around 7pm to order some dinner. I knocked off a star for service bc the cashier spent what felt like 2 minutes staring at I believe an online order while I stood there waiting to order.

First I got a slice of bbq chicken pizza. It was ok. Not bad but nothing amazing. The crust wasn't going to be winning over Dave Portnoy. Also, I ordered the pizza along with the below items, the cashier asked if it was for there or to go and I said to go, but it was ready like 10 minutes before the rest of the food and basically cold by the time I got it home.

The mixed chicken/lamb platter was tasty but oh boy did they pile up the rice so you think you're getting a lot of food but it's mostly just rice. I would honestly prefer less food if it meant the same amount of meat and less rice. It's insulting how many places have been making their portions look bigger by just adding 2 cups of rice.

The chicken tenders were insulting though. For a place that has fried chicken in the name, this does not apply to the tenders. Honestly I am not sure if they were microwaved or oven baked, but they were 100% not fried. Pretty sure the french fries that came with it was prepared the same way. I want to believe they were oven baked, but honestly they might have been microwaved frozen tenders/fries. Nothing fresh about either item. I was wondering why it took so long for my food to be prepared (at least 15 minutes) so if they were baked at least that explains it, but it's certainly not an item I'd buy again.

I am a truck driver and i mostly drive from the west to the east coast, i reached my destination at about 2AM, I was literally starving and nothing was open except this place. When i came in the owners were really excited to serve and was very friendly. I got the chicken platter with a soda and the owners insisted on giving me some fried chicken and a pizza slice samples on the house like a whole meal in itself for free, i normally don't rant about stuff but this is very definitely something worth checking out!! I wish i could come here everyday, but once in a while will have to do it for me whenever im in the area I'm coming back, cause timings also don't matter as they are open 24/7, like this place is...

For owner. I like to know if you have hms or hafsa halal certification? If not why are not interested? I know they do not just give certification instructions for money. Their certification fee is nothing. They ensure people know what they are eating and where the meat is coming and how it was processed. Not only that they randomly inspect facility to ensure meat is slaughtered according to shariah compliance according to what ALLAH wants from us. I can guide you how to get certification.
