D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches — Restaurant in South Portland

Lobster roll was put on a hot dog roll instead of their rolls without telling me the change. Which pretty much ruined the lobster roll for me. I will not go back. There were bits of food all over the kitchen floor and the kitchen was generally filthy. The staff seemed tired , lazy and never smiled. I was the only costumer in there. The staff seemed to be cooking food for themselves. I predict this D'Angelo will also be closing soon.

Ward Fitch here. I went back yesterday and got a good lobster roll on D'Angelo bread.The greasy haired cook wore no hat, the floor was littered with trash and filthy, the front man complained they get no breaks but I was the only one in there, and nobody smiled. It reduced my appetite. Nothing has changed since my last visit. I said I wouldn't go back but I changed my mind. Please find someone who can run this restaurant....

I love Dangelo's food. It's good every time and the customer service is very good. However I did take a star off because the general manager, Frank (that's what his shirt said) was so disrespectful to his staff. I couldn't believe it! There was literally like 5 or 6 staff members diligently working. They weren't goofing off, they weren't socializing. They had their heads down and were working hard. One guy said, very politely, "Is there any more steak?" And Frank went on a tirade for like 5 minutes about how he is working 10 times harder than everyone else and he only has 2 hands. I couldn't believe that's how he talked to his staff in front of customers. Makes me wonder how he treats them with no...

Overall it's not that bad, but when you ask for extra cheese on your number 9 pocket, you would think they would cook and melt the cheese with inside the meat but they don't, they put it on top of the sandwich so when you open the package to consume your sandwich it's all melted to the packaging. I guess it all depends on who the cook is that day, because some days my sandwich is cooked perfectly, the cheese is melted perfectly all through the sandwich, but then some days it's like they forgot to put the cheese in with the meat while cooking and just decided to throw the cheese on top where it melts to the packaging, when...
