Before I begin I just want to say the price since its hard to find. Its about 35 per person for all and 30 for 1 no matter what time you go contrary to the website. So this place is pretty pricey Toppot, They have it all to korean bbq, hot pot and sushi. With so many options it is safe to say you won't get bored of this place anytime soon. What i found interesting of this place was not their style or food but how the name is a palindrome! I thought it was pretty cool and personally makes their name score a 10/10. Just as unique as their name the interior and style of the whole restaurant gives me seafood vibes and almost like i'm on a ship. As soon as you enter you are greeted with a statue of aqua man. That's right Jason Momao is a fan of Toppot and personally emplaced a memory of his presence at this restaurant. After the entrance you've got only an obstacle of stairs and at the top a host waits for you. After getting our seating situated i was intrigued by the grill and food stoves on the tables. A very unique experience is what's to be expected at Toppot. The server was very nice and very helpful. He helped me and my friends to navigate the menu and choose our hot pot soup/broth. after deciding what to get i went with the Japanese miso soup. The rest of my friends got different types of soups/broths that i can not remember. But i do remember one of my friends went for the spicy option and only chose medium spice and it was still too spicy for his liking. So fair warning for those that cannot handle spicy. What i found pretty cool about the place was the selection of drinks. They had classics like caprisun, coke and pepsi products but what really caught my eye was the Asian drink options. They had japanese, korean, and chinese options i went with a chinese drink that was like a tea. If you have ever had arizona green tea it had a similar taste but not exactly. And they get a score of 10/10 with the drink options they really have everything for anyone's liking. After everyone got their soups/broths we decided to check out the options they had for our hot pot. And when i tell you there was a lot of things i have never tried on those containers, I was truly impressed. I got a variety of things but first thing i got was something i was familiar with, Ramen. Cant go wrong with Japanese miso soup and ramen. i grabbed a leaf of lettuce some enoki mushrooms, tripe, a qual egg, naruto(Japanese fish cake), corn, thinly sliced beef, dumplings, and a weird white small pineapple looking thing. Surprisingly all that fit in my miso soup. And i also got some sushi and Korean BBQ teriyaki chicken...
Read moreThis was my first time going to a hot pot restaurant. I do have to say that I had a great experience. I was blown away by all the choices of everything. Starting with the menu, the broths were first up and our waiter was very good about asking our preferences and what we don't like and was able to make really good recommendations. On to the meat, many categories and lots of choices each category. We tried a few from each of the following, pork, chicken, beef and seafood. Did not disappoint with each option being superb quality and cut, but also the perfect amount of seasoning and no two tasting alike. But the buffet. There is just so much to talk about I'm just going to mention a few. Tons of greens, so many mushroom, tofu, and alternative meat options, just wow. These meat options at the buffet are different from the menu. They have such an array of seafood, fresh water things, crustaceans, tentacles, different cuts types and varieties of meats and things I didnt know you could eat, but looked and smelled absolutely delicious. Everything cut, displayed, labeled and stocked to absolute beauty . The sweets and desserts, well you will have to see that for yourself to believe. My father is a chef and I was really shocked on the amount of spices and sauces available. All drinks are cans, plastic or glass with nearly everything I can think of and things I've never seen but tempted me. So cooking is at the table or better said, IN your table. Flat round solid grill on the middle and 4 round electric burners by the corners of the table. All have individual controls for temp timers and more. Now how we did it was, everyone at or table was cooking and we all cooked for each other. Everything was great, just an amazing food experience. And just so you know, a few people at our table are not professionals. But the staff were plentiful and so helpful to make sure the place didn't get burned down, no one got hurt, everything recommended was delish. Hats off to that staff , wow. What a great time , good food, one of a kind experience in a beautiful setting. Thanks Top Pot and K BBQ. Highly recommend and I will be a returning customer.
Oh yeah, everyone was so nice 🙂 Don't forget, helpful and informative our...
Read moreLet me start with the positives: the service is fabulous and the employees were very kind. The atmosphere is fun and not too loud. The layout is spacious so you don’t feel crammed in. Everything LOOKs clean. There’s a huge variety of meats and food options. A good assortment of drinks too.
Now for the negatives: there’s a whole bar where you can get a variety of meats, sauces, veggies etc. Sounds promising, but there was raw meat next to cake. There were chicken nuggets and pot stickers but they were room temperature. They weren’t cold or hot which made me terrified to eat them because who knows how long they sat out? I wanted to give my son some nuggets but I did not due to fear of food poisoning. The sauces were separate from the raw meats but I was still worried for risk of cross contamination, as people were putting sauces on the same plates as their meats.
We only did the kbbq but I think the best option is doing kbbq, hot pot and sushi if you want to go here. Just kbbq alone was kind of a let down. It was also confusing because we weren’t sure if they were supposed to bring us our meats separate or if we were supposed to get them from the bar area. There’s a menu that you order from, so it gets confusing knowing if you get your food by yourself or order it.
Overall, my biggest concern by far was the risks associated with the way the food was sitting out in the bar area. It’s such a shame because the employees are great, but I just refuse to risk getting sick over some room temp nuggets or cake sitting next to raw seafood. So much potential, but this is a health...
