Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in South Strabane Township

This is a review of the food not the store. The store and service was perfectly fine. Clean and friendly. We had never been here before and came because subway was closed. The prices were higher, and we were sad to discover we got half the amount of food. The sandwiches, if you can call them that, are like 1 and 1/2 inches wide. It’s more like a roll. They seem to hide this by serving them open faced in store. The bread tastes fine though. I got the Regular BLT and it had a whopping 2 quarter slices of tomato. There was more Mayo than tomato and a tiny amount of lettuce. It basically tasted like a bacon Mayo sandwich. I don’t really like Mayo and only like it on a BLT to complement the tomato but the tomato was minuscule and bland. We got a lot of fries and the price seems fine on that. We expected 5 guy quality since they are made the same way. They are not. Has a funny aftertaste, not as crispy, and they did not salt them. So very bland. And now I have a giant pile of fries no one wants to eat. $72 dollar for a family of 5 seems pretty outrageous for what we got. $10 more got us diner at Red Robin with shakes and an appetizer. So I work next door at Xfinity lol and I will say you guys will probably see me 3 times out of the week! Haha. The first time I went over there I got a cheesesteak sub & it was fabulous! I didn't finish it & I gave it to my little sister. Why? 😂 I wanted it back so bad! Soooo today I tried a turkey sub & once again I'm very satisfied. I ordered online, got my break later than expected; & even still my fries & sub were fresh&hot! To be HANGRY (Hungry&Angry) and you think your food is just sitting there cold and lonely 😂 to coming in & it's not! Whew! I love you guys! 😂 Plus the crew that works there are very very friendly. The french fries were delicious. The staff was nice although we did have to ask for our table to be cleaned. Decent service and everything was made fresh which is good but I’m just not so sure that I would come back. I tried to alert the gentleman about the overflowing clogged soda dispenser and he brushed me off. I ordered the chicken teriyaki. It was lacking , had decent flavor, but very sparse. We also ordered the turkey avocado salad, which was super basic with bagged avocado. Nothing much in the flavor for the salad. When I order water usually like to let it flow for a little bit to get the water to come out and not its mixer -but I couldn’t do that because of the clogged dispenser-I didn’t want to flood the floor more so than it was.
