Cafe Thang — Restaurant in South Tucson

My husband and I decided to try this place after hearing about it on social media :) We like to try to support smaller local businesses, especially Asian-owned ones, around Tucson, so we were excited to see how we liked it!

I ordered the coconut coffee and he got the egg cream coffee. The coconut coffee was sooo good! It’s the perfect amount of coconut flavor to complement the taste of the coffee, with just the right amount of subtle sweetness to it. I would say that if you like vanilla lattes or caramel macchiatos, this would be a good choice! The egg cream coffee was super creamy and perfect for anyone who is a fan of iced lattes or cream foam/soft top on their drinks.

The man at the counter (I think he was the owner?) was very kind. I showed him a picture from the shop’s Google reviews to try and figure out what drink it was, and he was able to identify it right away for me. He also made our drinks right away for us and had them both ready in just a few minutes!

The menu is mostly drinks, but there’s a good variety of coffee, tea, juice, and even boba! I do wish there were photos of the menu items somewhere so that it would be easier to know what you’re ordering, but the worker was very helpful and I’m sure he would be willing to describe the drinks and answer any questions for those unfamiliar with the menu :)

Ever since he showed it to me, I keep trying to think of excuses to come back since it’s a little but of a drive from us (we live closer to Orange Grove/La Cholla), but today we were just ten minutes away running errands so we stopped by!

I got the coconut cream coffee again, and he decided to try the brown coffee (classic Vietnamese iced coffee) this time. There were shaved coconut toppings on my drink this time, which I really enjoyed!

I’ve recommended it to one of my friends and suggested we come here to study together, as the lobby is a good size and it has a calm and quiet atmosphere that’s perfect for a change in environment while working. I want to try something new the next time I come, but the coconut coffee is so good and I can’t get it anywhere else! I’ll try to come...

I PROMISE you once you try Cafe Thang, Starbucks and any other major coffee chain will be an afterthought. As a coffee enthusiast, Cafe Thang always hits the spot. Never too sweet, always fresh, amazing bold flavors. I would highly suggest egg cream coffee for those who want to ease into the experience. It’s like a caramel macchiato but 100x better and such deep, rich flavors. If you like refreshers try any of their teas. I am OBSESSED with the strawberry tea. It’s refreshing, semi sweet, with a beautiful floral note at the end. My kids love the matcha and taro ….. literally there is nothing on their menu that we have tried that we DONT like. Give them a try. Shop local. AND buy some lottery tickets while you there. They literally have everything!! lol...
