My wife and I and a couple of friends were in the Silo Square area and decided to drop in Wadford’s Roof Top Grill for a nite cap. My wife and I had been to the location several times when it was under previous ownership but not since the space was reopened as Wadford’s, this was our friends first time to visit. To be set the stage, the time was around 9:15, there 4 groups seated at tables, 2 couples seated at the bar, 4 empty chairs at the end of the bar, 2 employees behind the bar and one on the floor, Amy I believe was her name, in the bar area at that moment, and no one at the hostess stand at the entrance. With that setting we walked towards the empty seats at the end of the bar and were greeted with a friendly “The kitchen is closed” from Amy. We responded with an equally friendly “No problem, we’re only here for a drink” which solicited a response from Amy of “Well we close at 9:30” to which one of our friends asked if there had been a last call. The employee behind the bar agreed to serve us a round of drinks. Well then… our other friend goes to the rest room which is near the kitchen area and overhears Amy running her mouth about “the group at the end of the bar”. Very unprofessional behavior from someone who works in the customer service industry, AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY.
In all fairness we did not order food though other reviews of their food look really good, The atmosphere is pretty cool with a great roof top view of a lot of the surrounding area. Customer service however was a miserable fail. People pay for quality food and drink and quality service which, when done correctly, equal great experiences, and will pay just about whatever you want to charge. If you can’t provide that near closing time perhaps you should simply tell customers “I’m sorry but we...

Came for dinner and decided to sit outside to check out the view & vibe. I noticed the bar area indoors was busy, to me it looked like regulars. There was only one couple in the outside area. Picked the far right corner and the view is really nice! From here you can see the entire strip where Firebirds, Tekila, GB, etc.
Greeted by two young ladies, one on her very first day. Was provided the menu and ordered some water with lemon. Decided then to order an Old Fashion, taste was meh, definitely was missing something but noticed whatever was crushed at the bottom (perhaps smashed cocktail cherry) didn’t look too appealing in my opinion. What the hell, it’s a drink.
I guess where I sat is more for just drinking and maybe some appetizers, notice the picture with the silverware, it definitely felt like a bit more space was missing for my dinner plate. I recommend sitting at the other tables.
Shifted to dinner, ordered a 6oz. Filet Mignon with Au Gratin Potatoes, house salad. What a terrible steak! Honestly, it tasted like it was lying there for a while, it had a particular smell and at that point I was done! Potatoes lacked flavor, don’t assume adding a few sprinkles of cheese will do the trick, it won’t! The salad, felt like a to-go salad, Thought it would be tossed and mixed in the kitchen for ease of enjoyment.
I can deal with a one off! What I can’t deal with is the owner not being aware of how bad my food was! That’s on the waitress! On top of that, I paid for the entire meal and I only took one jab at it.
How unfortunate, it’s a very nice looking place.
This is NOT a Valdi...
Read moreFirst time visit and walked in on a whim after being given a 90-120 minute wait at Longhorn. Franchise that won’t take reservations, nor would they “push tables together” to accommodate a large party.
Family of 8 adults and we were seated right away. Staff was genuinely eager and excited for our attendance. I feel that the servers are trying fit into a natural ebb & flow of perfection in service. I only say this in an attempt to nitpick on something.
Servers are attentive and have fantastic attitudes. It’s very evident they love working there. This is an obvious testament to ownership taking time to train staff properly which requires patience.
The owner came around to check on our experience. The only way I can describe her is like going over to your favorite Aunts house for thanksgiving. Loving, caring, funny, everyone is important, and doesn’t forget a single detail.
As for the food…. All ranges of food were ordered by my family from the menu. As a good home cook myself, I have a tendency to be very picky on cook, presentation, price, etc. The beef, chicken, salmon, lobster, and shrimp were all absolutely NAILED. Chef on staff knows exactly what they’re doing. Kudos to the chef on a job well done!
One thing is certain, I’ll be scheduling a family dinner there every time we come into town. Truly a great first impression. I have a feeling that this establishment will soon evolve into reservation only… they’re doing things that well!
To the Owner and the entire staff; Thank You for making my family, Your Family! You guys...
