Graduation is a special occasion and a time to celebrate with family and friends. My daughter decided to celebrate after her great accomplishment at Tekila Modern Mecxican Restaurant. The food and drinks were great but the service afterwards was devastating. We reserved seating for 15 people which all 15 showed up. We finished our meal and drinks and preceded to pay. My sister asked for her receipt first and I asked for my receipt after her. We asked for printed receipts but never received them but instead was told that it will be texted to you. I explained to the waitress that how can you text me the receipt when you never asked for my phone number. She goes on to say I will go print them but instead she came back and said I didn’t pay. I told her that my card balance says differently and as a matter of fact you actually took more than my ticket says. The waitress goes and gets someone else to come and try to explain the same thing she had just said. I tried several times to explain to them that I had paid my ticket but they kept insisting that I hadn’t. At this point I’m getting really agitated because I’m tired and ready to go home and they’re still acting nonchalant about it. I don’t understand what was so hard about looking in the system and comparing my card number with the transaction in there register. We asked for the manager and he took his time by coming to the table. He didn’t seem to care either about the situation at hand. Now you have people looking around at us as if we’re trying to get away without paying and now I’m really upset but I kept my cool. In the end they finally realized that I did pay and I even tipped a little over my 18%. They still overcharged my card and did not apologize for it. The manager never tried to offer any type of apology. When I asked when can I expect the rest of my overpayment he said he don’t know maybe four or five days. You just can’t take my money and say I didn’t pay and when you finally do find me a receipt, it reveals that I did pay and I even paid more. It says one price but you charged my card a different price. People please check your receipts at this restaurant at all times. Asking for a receipt but not receiving one is bad business. Next time I’m paying at the front and give me a paper receipt right then and there. I don’t know if I will be revisiting this restaurant again or referring my family and...
Read moreQuite possibly the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Ordered food, wrong order was brought to the table. Didn’t see my server for at least 15 min after receiving the wrong order, so my friend and I had to flag down TWO other servers before anyone actually helped us. Mario, who was not our server but was very helpful, went to the kitchen to put in the correct order. Our server finally comes back to check on us & explains that he had been greeting his other tables which is why he hadn’t come over, which doesn’t make sense because even if that’s the case you still have other tables that you’re serving. I inform him we’ve been taken care of by another server and he apologizes, and assures the correct order will be brought out asap. By this point we’ve been sitting there for 35-40 min, and I haven’t eaten. My friend is finished eating and I still have no food. 15 min later, still no food. Finally, a manager comes out to check on us. She wasn’t helpful at all and was basically blaming everything on the kitchen, which I thought was unprofessional as the manager of the establishment. At this point we’ve been here for over an hour, for which there was NO reasonable excuse. The meal should’ve been comped at this point. She proceeds to tell me that she personally will go to the kitchen to put in the order, but at this point it was so hot outside and we’d been there for so long that I want nothing but the checks. She scurries along, and then 10 min later our waiter is back. He asks, “the food still didn’t come?” Obviously not. The table is clear. He’s apologizing & we tell him we just want the checks. He’s asking if the manager said anything about taking off the food, which I found incredulous because that should’ve been the first thing out of her mouth when she came to the table. He says he’ll make the decision to just take it off and then proceeds to INCORRECTLY and over-charge us for what we did get. BUT it’s not over. As we’re walking out, here comes the manager with what was supposed to be my order. I’m floored by all of this, and all she can muster is a meager “I’m sorry”. No other recourse, nothing to try to fix the situation in any meaningful way. Utterly DISASTROUS experience at this restaurant and I will...
Read moreWe called in advance to ask if there was a children's menu, they said yes. I asked what the prices were like, and she told me she would check. I waited on hold a few minutes before the line disconnected. But since we confirmed there's was a children's menu, we decided to go. This was important because we were bringing 5 children under 10.
We were greeted by the server, who informed us right away that there were no free chips and salsa. We were able to order them off the menu. The chips and salsa ended up being the best part of the meal. The chips have a seasoning on them that's yummy, and I really liked the salsa. When we asked for children's menus, we were told they didn't have them! That was a disappointment. I also requested limes for my water. The server never brought them, so I went to the bar. The bartender seemed annoyed that I was bothering him but did get them for me after several minutes.
I ordered chicken fajitas with the vegetables well done. The chicken was dry and didn't have much flavor. The fajitas were also not sizzling, which is normally how they come out. The vegetables were not anywhere near well done. I requested replacement veggies that were actually well done. They did bring me out more veggies, but they were not anymore cooked than the first ones. The server seemed like he tried his best, but he was struggling.
One of the people I was with got fish tacos. I tried one: the fish was dry and didn't have much flavor.
I ordered ceviche to go for my husband. I was shocked when they brought it out in a container about the size of a hockey puck. 16 dollars for a couple of bites seemed way overpriced. My husband said it was okay, not as good as Rancho Grande, where you get a whole plate for 12.50. I also ordered the raspberry cheesecake to go; it was delicious and worth every penny.
This place did have a beautiful atmosphere, but I probably will not return.I might grab chips and Salsa and cheesecake to go sometime, though!
The menu prices were much too high for the quality of the food. I hope that the food and service get better as they work...
