Be warned: even if you're directed toward the Strike Zone parking lot, prepare to be towed if you park there. Not everyone gets towed. It's a game they all play: the alley, the amphitheatre, the cops, the towing companies, the hotels--they're all in bed with one another and making $300+ per vehicle. The alley conveniently allowed everyone to park and then after the show had started and everyone was inside, placed a sign outside saying the lot was for customers only. We walked directly in the path of where the sign was placed on the way in and it was definitely, 10000000% not there. The lot "behind" the venue where there was no line to get in was not even full but we were directed to park where we did. After spending 45 mins on hold with the first towing company who couldn't confirm if they had our vehicle, we were finally told the other company had it and would not release it til 8 a.m. We live an hour and a half away with pets at home NOT TO MENTION I have been Type 1 Diabetic for 30 years and was left without meds, etc because my vehicle was gone. They didn't care. After walking two miles back toward the interstate/hotels, the tow truck driver pulled over and asked if I'm the girl with diabetes and had a tad bit of mercy on us and took us to our truck for a pre-midnight price of $285. Originally was told it would be $386. So, thanks Patrick? They all made a killing last night and I will never attend another show here again for that reason. If you can't direct vehicles to appropriate parking lots, you don't need to host events. 11,000 people capacity and zero parking logistics.
Don't waste your money on an $11 draft; they have tall boys for $14. The expansion of seats ruined the lawn experience I remember from previous shows. What they sell as "lawn" is a small patch with hardly any room. They're packing people in there like sardines and the ticket provider websites' "maps" are misleading. Sound is better from the back--we grabbed folding chair seats near one of the liquor stations at the top. Finally glad to see they installed more bathrooms--never had to wait in line. They need to have people all over that campus directing traffic and the hordes of people to the different ticketing/merch/concessions instead of whatever it is they did last night.
We won't be coming back to Mississippi--came for a show; had my truck skull-dragged to Horn Lake. The tow truck driver said that the alley (and whoever else) do this EVERY TIME there's an event there. It was a Weds; I promise you there aren't that many people bowling in Southaven, MS on...
Read moreWe are very disappointed. My husband and I are both disabled and use motorized wheelchairs
We just returned home after not being able to gain access for the Black Crowes concert tonight. We planned to buy tickets at the entrance rather than in advance in case of bad weather. We checked online to make sure tickets were available before we left home. There were still lots of availability so we got there an hour and 15 minutes early to allow enough time. When we got there, none of the parking attendants were of any help. We asked 5 different people where handicap parking was and how we could get to the ticket office. ALL of their responses were the same, "I don't know". After riding around in circles for half an hour to try to get to the ticket office one guy told us to try the Getwell Rd entrance that handicap parking was there. The attendant there directed us back to gate 2. We went back to gate 2 and parked and my husband rode his electric wheelchair all the way to the ticket booth only to find out they wouldn't sell him tickets because the card machine was not working and they couldn't accept cash. Even if he had been able to secure tickets it is egregious that there was no designated wheelchair accessible parking! Gate 2 is too far! If other designated parking exists, the people directing traffic have no clue. All entrances are blocked with only one way in. We were trapped. Finally was told to drive across a ditch and through a grassy, but uneven field to get to an exit. What a nightmare, a total disappointment. It is criminal to treat the handicapped and disabled in this manner. You claim to be ADA compliant. Maybe you are.. "inside" the venue..we just can't get there! I'm glad we decided not to get tickets in advance. It would have been money lost since we couldn't get in! You do not deserve the one star I was forced to give
YOU SHOULD BE BETTER THAN THIS. SHAME ON THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE for overseeing this venue! I intend to shout this DISCRIMINATION...
Read moreWhy should I even have to give them a star…I’ve been to smaller venues that the thunder rocked the roof off and bands still made an appearance and even if they cancelled they still made it worth to their fans. This one was a big let down. Not only did we drive to see Megadeth; we came prepared to see a great show and “Rain or shine” yep rained us out and rained everyone else out who stood in the rain waiting for this show. Metallica would have been ready to play! I don’t know about Megadeth they might have been ready also along with All That Remains and Mudvayne, but not just us, but thousands of other people who waited for the show that never happened. Oh and great parking…not…walking in the rain was not a problem if the show was a “rain or shine” show as they promised…a promise that was never fulfilled by this venue! Never Again. Sincerely one angry fan backed by thousand of other angry fans. The main reason why we are all so angry is waiting in the rain for updates that never showed up til the last minute, I know a lot of fans paid good money to see these bands, waiting in the rain for hours, being prepared for whatever happens, driving from far off places to come see these bands. Paying out hard earned money and plugging in the time from their jobs, careers, planning and other things. That is enough to make us mad! In all honesty my ticket was blessed to be me and having my two best friends there to make the show even better and make the weekend hang out with people who I haven’t had a chance to see in a while. What an cruddy end to what was supposed to be a night of metal and bonding only ended with us being bummed and disappointed by this venue! Total bust! Not cool BankPlus Amphitheater!...
