If it were on food only, the rating would be higher than one star -- but the service here is SO BAD, Gordon Ramsay would end up buying a gun if this place was on an episode of "Kitchen Nightmares". I gave a good review to their Warren location because they made up for a lousy experience with this location, which I went into detail about. Here's the excerpts from that review pertaining to Kerby's Southfield:....
"I went there for lunch on February 9, 2012 because I love Kerby's chicken kabob, pita bread, and rice for lunch -- and I was having a bad day so I needed comfort food. It also happens I invited a friend by text to join me (more on that in a moment*). I was seated, brought a soft drink.... and then nothing. The waitstaff stood around, and no one came to take my order for ten minutes. And they can't say I was forgotten about, because there were only about six other tables with guests. Anyway, I got up and left not in the greatest of moods.... *As for the asking my friend to meet me at the Southfield location, he got my message too late and couldn't make it, but here's our text exchange -- Me: Hey - don't know what you're up to, but I'm at Kerby's on Telegraph having lunch... Just pulled up. 11:13 AM // Him: Oh. Sorry. Long day. Next time 1:35 PM // Me: Don't sweat it -- I left because no one waited on me... Had an awful job interview experience in Southfield this morning, and went there to make myself feel better. // 1:36 PM Him: But I'm sure it didn't // 1:38 PM Me: The fact that no one waited on me means it obviously didn't work... That Kerby's sucks... 1:38 PM // Him: Lol. Yes it does 1:39 PM.... So apparently I'm not the only who has that opinion of Kerby's...
Read moreDo you like terrible, horrendous customer service? Then this would be the perfect place for you! If you are a patron who would like to be treated with respect whether you're wearing a mink or a hoodie, especially if you plan on taking your family, you may want to skip past this place and NEVER look back. I for one never will again. Went for the first and last time with my two youngest last night.
The waitress we had, Aquira I believe her name was, had a very negative opinion of me and wasn't afraid to let me hear it. Professional, I think not. Neither was the fact that her and other co-workers were on their phones more often than not. And the fact that management was right there as we had a verbal match of wits, to put it nicely, and did not reprimand her was rather quite appalling to me. Of course I left without giving her so much as a tip, yet I had a $23.33 charge on my account, when what I signed for and approved was $19.44.
Not to mention the fact that there were hairs in my hash-browns. It was explained to me those came from a new Bristol brush, and no, I was not compensated for the disgustingness of that.
Dear Kerfby's, without a quality staff it is impossible to have quality service. Without that, you soon will have no customers. Something in which you already do not have...
Read moreWe went for Mother's Day breakfast. The waitress was friendly and attentive to the few of us that arrived first. However as our party grew (which we informed her it would) she quickly lost track of things. Forgotten toast, coffee, food, hot water, etc.
Also, during our visit, when we originally requested our drinks the hot beverages were all brought to the table after they had cooled as if forgotten on the counter. So everyone had warm drinks for coffee and tea. When we I formed our waitress she returned with a cooled pot of coffee to serve everyone.
Our 88 year old mother whom we were celebrating was forced to order a "Hot" chocolate in the hope that at least that would be hot.
After which I reminded the young lady that we were still waiting on our toast we never received from the first group who ordered.
In the end, only one person in our group had Hot coffee (out of 5 coffee drinkers). We had one hot cup of tea between two tea drinkers. Missing toast, two undercooked omelets, one over cooked skillet, cold food, and drinks.
Now while I understand we did have a large growing group of people (5 to 9), there were issues from start to finish. From the drinks to the food.
This has been my consistent experience with this location from being by myself to being in a...
