Beware of Booking Through Traveluro and Staying at Victory Inn I recently had one of the worst hotel experiences of my life, and I feel compelled to warn others. I booked a room through a third-party agency called Traveluro. My reservation was for Baymont, a hotel with decent reviews and amenities, but upon arrival, I found myself at Victory Inn, a completely different and unacceptable property. The issues began immediately upon check-in. The front desk was surrounded by bulletproof glass—a clear red flag. The entire hotel reeked of stench and drugs. When I was finally given my key, we used a luggage cart to carry inour belongings, but it broke halfway down the hall, forcing us to carry everything ourselves. When I entered the first room, I was horrified. There was no functioning light switch, and when I turned on a lamp near the microwave, cockroaches scattered everywhere, even inside the microwave. The bathroom was filthy, with broken fixtures and a shelf falling off the wall. I went to the front desk and was offered another room. Unfortunately, the second room was no better—more broken fixtures and even more cockroaches. Frustrated, I returned to the front desk, where the clerk, who was genuinely kind despite the circumstances, offered me an “upgraded” room with two beds. This third room still had burnt holes in the blankets and a lingering smell, but I was willing to make do—until I realized the door didn't lock. I reported the issue, and after multiple follow-ups, a maintenance worker finally arrived. He said the batteries needed to be replaced in the door lock, which would take about 30 minutes. Two hours later, with no resolution, I was told I’d be moved to another room as soon as one was cleaned. The fourth room was no better. There were dead cockroaches on the floor, broken light fixtures, non-working lamps, and the main safety lock was missing. The only functioning lock was the room key lock. Unfortunately, I had to make this work because I had already paid for two nights, and I had no other reservation options. I was traveling with my two sons, and I felt unsafe in this disgusting environment. The hotel was in a deplorable state: the hallways looked like they had suffered water damage that was never cleaned up, the pool was unusable with an oily film on the surface, and the hot tub was out of order. The workout room next to the pool was littered with wet insulation, broken windows, and debris falling from the ceiling. To make matters worse, the promised breakfast was nonexistent—by 8:00 a.m., the breakfast area was empty. The only positive note was the front desk clerk who was honest with me. She told me that these issues occur frequently because the management refuses to fix them. Shame on the hotel ownership for forcing their employees to deal with such dreadful conditions. When I reached out to Travelu to resolve this nightmare, they promised someone would contact me that night. It has now been five days, and no one has called. Today, when I finally reached the same representative I spoke with previously, I asked why I never received a callback. She hung up on me after I politely inquired. Now, every time I try to call Traveluro, my calls are disconnected after one ring, as if my number has been blocked. I feel I was completely misled by the booking agency and the hotel. The pictures and descriptions I saw online were not remotely close to reality. I am currently disputing the charge with my bank for false advertising and will never use Travelu again. I highly discourage anyone from booking through them or staying at Victory Inn in Southfield. Save yourself the frustration, safety concerns, and disappointment. Avoid this place at all costs.

When we got to the room the door was already opened there were lots of doors propped open I when to the front desk to tell them she came in and told me that the housekeeper may have did that . Red flag number one. Number two was the exposed electric panel. I should have took a picture in the bathroom next to the sink. Also, the hot water barely worked and when I went to go into the hot tub, it was not hot mine you this was the reason I booked the room in the first place.. There were no bath towels in my room only one face cloth and a towel mat. I went to the front desk to let her know. She told me they were low and she gave me a pool towels out of the pool towels. She gave me one was stained in blood. After taking the kids to the pool and sitting outside of the pool area because it was too cold in the pool area, and too cold in the hot tub to even get in, we proceeded back to our room. Once we get back to the room, my son walks past the dresser, the dresser door then fall off and hit my son in the head . Then not even five minutes later, I see him picking something up off the floor and attempting to put it in his mouth. It was a pill a loose pill in the room with my children that I paid for that was supposed to be clean and not have any revenant of any last guess there was also another pill that was found on the floor because I started to scanned and wanted to clean. I then took pictures, and I proceeded to go to the front desk and let the staff member know what I have found and I advised her that I would be letting Expedia know about what happened she apologized for the door falling on my sons head and apologized for the loose pills in my room but when Expedia called her, she denied any pills on the floor and then told me she would not write down that I handed her pills And then threatened to remove me from the property mind you it is 1130 at night and I have small children and it’s winter here also the peoples you could see right into the room. There was no glass in the hole. I had to put a piece of tissue in now when I went to tell her about the hot water she let me know that they’re hot water tank is broken and is leaking and I would have to turn the sink on for 15 to 20 minutes before cutting the shower on. I feel this is a dangerous hotel to bring children to. They are not thorough at cleaning their rooms which pills may be left from previous people and not just that the fact that they leave empty room doors, a yard for strange people to go into the rooms and or could do something to children or any person, she had already advised me that they had a problem with this before and that people were getting food deliveries to rooms that weren’t even occupied. Human trafficking is real and it’s giving me those vibes. Be safe and enjoy. Into anyone that has any smart remarks about the price of the hotel and to go stay at a better one. I am currently running from a domestic violence situation with my children and it’s very costly and this was in my price range, but just because the price is low does not mean that the quality in the hospitality should be low as well. And for Leilani to deny me, handing her those pills from the room. Is beyond me.

I recently stayed at this hotel and it was a complete disaster. The first room they gave me was already occupied… seriously a couple was sitting on the bed.. luckily they weren’t making love. This was extremely unsettling. The second room was also horrible. The bed was not made and the bathtub was absolutely disgusting. When they did get around to changing the sheets, even those were stained. I could not believe that this was even considered a room that could be rented out. To make matters worse, when I stepped into the tub, the drain did not work and I ended up slipping and falling, injuring my shoulder. This was not only painful, but also extremely dangerous. It is unacceptable that the hotel did not properly maintain their facilities, putting their guests at risk of injury. To add insult to injury, the check-in process was a nightmare. I had to wait in line for over an hour just to get to the front desk. This is completely unacceptable and showed a complete lack of consideration for their guests' time. I have traveled to many different countries and stayed in a variety of hotels, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone and suggest that you avoid it at all costs. Save yourself the trouble and find a different place to stay.

My son and I was in town and stayed in this 3rd world hotel. Upon entering, I didn't get the impression is was too bad until we booked the room and entered the actual room.

The fake leather headboards were shredded as if a cat or dog was clawing on it, and not one headboard, but both. The room had no towels, or washcloths, the refrigerator /freezer portion had an empty ice bag with melted water.

I told the front desk clerk, about the towels and washcloths and other issues, and she gave me 2 towels that were maybe 5 years old and told me she didn't have any washcloths. Because it was such a long day and late, I decided to go to the store and purchase some washcloths and and just call it a night. Oh....and the room had a smoke detector, that the front part was ripped off, so it was inoperable.

Fast forward to the following day. I checked out of the hotel, got back home and noticed a few red bumps on my elbow, leg, arm and scalp, and finger, and I'm thinking to myself, I've gotten bit my mosquito or something. So, I show my wife and she says they look like bed bug bites. Needless to say I am livid and called the hotel immediately to ask for the manager. Of course he wasn't there and I was told by Greg, he would give him the message. No call back.

I called lated in the evening and spoke to Shonda who also said her manager wasn't in, and promised to give him the message. No calls again.

By this time my finger, which had multiple bites swelled up and the bumps were more pronounced.

I am contacting the health department, fire Marshall, and Action news 4 to report this unhealthy and horrible hotel first thing on Monday.

If you're reading this post, I took photos of the room with all if the issues it had for record. DO NOT understand any circumstances stay at this hotel or you are risking...
