This location and company doesn’t even deserve a 1 star I wish I could give -10 stars!!! The absolute disregard of customer service is beyond me! I purchased a 25.00 gift card for my cousin in March for her birthday! I gave her the card and when she attempted to use it, the card was showing 0 balance!! EMBARRASSING RIGHT! I contacted the store and spoke to Jose’ in April, who verified in the system on the date of the purchase that there was an actual transaction where I was charged for a smoothie and and 25.00 for a gift card. He advised me to come into the store to have the card scanned to show proof that the money was never used. So I had to get the card back from my cousin. And go back into the store at a convenient time for me as I do not live in the area! When I made it into the store in July, I was told the card was not active, and the store manager at the time had no way of looking back at the transaction history to confirm my purchase. I advised of speaking with Jose about the issue previously, and explained that I brought the card in after being instructed by him, to do so, to have a different card issued. The lead at the time, said they did not have any physical gift cards to give me and advised me to go to another tropical smoothie location on evergreen to get the card from there and they could load it for me. I went to that store a week later and the lead there said she was unaware of why the lead at the Southfield road location would tell me to do that as that is not something they can do. I then went back to the Southfield road store a week after that with the new gift card and the originally never loaded gift card, and was told by the same lead who instructed me to go to the evergreen store that I would need to contact corporate. I asked her why she could not add the 25.00 to the new gift card and she advised because I didn’t have a receipt proving my purchase of the gift card I needed to contact corporate. At this point, I am livid I know how those registers work and there is definitely a way to locate the receipt in their system given I have the date and time of my initial purchase! Jose looked it up in April and then when I went into the store in July they somehow claimed they did not ever remember locating my proof of purchase! It is now going on September and I have not heard back from corporate and they are not admitting responsibility for this mess up!!! I don’t care if it is only 25.00 !!! That is money that I worked for and a gift I was trying to give and the level of embarrassment and the time, gas and energy that has gone into this at this point, exceeds the initial gift card amount!!! I will be going to corporate again and again until, I feel the matter has been resolved ! I will also continue making 1 star reviews of the Southfield road location and the evergreen location from multiple emails because how hard is it to pick up a phone and try to help a customer resolve their concern when they have expressed that this is out of their area and the issue has been unresolved for months!!!! I called the store today to get the name of the little girl that works on Saturdays as well, and I was hung up on!!! Very very unprofessional and they should train their employees much better because the bulk of their clientele is hardworking individuals who deserve good customer service when patronizing with their establishment and drinking their bland over priced...
Read moreI just visited this location on 2/26 @12:43pm. While placing my order at the menu screen, the rep stated, ‘I can’t hear you, can you speak up.’ Now this is not unusual, but the tone was not very friendly, however I didn’t take it personally.
I pulled up to the first window, but there was no one there. Shortly after, a young lady over to the window view but did not acknowledge me. I waited for a minute, not knowing if I should pull up to second window. I waved, but received no attention or acknowledgment. So I pulled to the second window.
The young lady at the second window say opened the window and while using her thumb to demonstrate said, ‘First window’. I said, ‘oh I didn’t know, she didn’t say anything’. She replied, ‘yea that was me, I saw you. First window.’ I said, ‘well can I just pay you’, and attempted to hand her a $20 bill. She replied back, ‘First window’, slammed the window in my face and walked off.
Assuming I was supposed to oblige her very rude order, to back up in the drive thru line, as well pay for such service, I politely left and took my valued business to another Tropical Smoothie, in Birmingham, where the service is always pleasant.

Read moreThis place has the nastiest employees ever. I ordered a smoothie through the drive through. I watch the cashier tell the other cashier that the paradise point smoothie was mine. However the other cashier had already handed my smoothie to the car in front of me, that customer put a straw in it an was already drinking it, they took the smoothie back from him, then proceeded to hand it to me with a new straw, I was completely shocked, I told her I don’t want that one, he has already drank from it. She turns away angry shuts the window an comes back 30 sec later with, what I’m assuming is the same smoothie because idk if anyone can make a smoothie in 30 sec. I told her I wanna speak to the manager. He comes back trying to say it was a new one. I knew it wasn’t because no one can make a smoothie in 30 sec. so at this point. I just want a refund on my card. He shuts the window an made me wait literally in the drive through for 15 min. Finally I honked my horn, he comes back saying it took so long because he has never did a refund before. I will never go back, I will drive the 2 miles to my other store on 10 mile an evergreen.
