Crazy Crab West 12 Mile — Restaurant in Southfield

Great service and atmosphere. The food was not worth the price. I got two lobster bags and 2 shrimp baskets and an order of fried oysters. I spent a hundred dollars for two tiny lobster tails and the bag was full of butter and pieces of garlic. I would have rather had the butter and garlic in a separate container to dip it in Butter is expensive and each bag is a at least 2 lbs of butter and a whole glove of chopped garlic. I'm figuring that to was where the money went. The lobster was small and over cooked. The egg was good and potatoes were too small too. The shrimp baskets were nothing special, small and not battered properly. The fried oysters had a cornmeal thick crust that I didn't care for. No tempuras or beer battered insight. Also the sliced lemond were in the bags but it was in all of the butter so it was too much of a mess to squeeze unto the overcooked lobster tail. And the tail was small with little meat. I've eaten at this location at least 3x now. While the menu is robust, the quality is average. IMHO the quality akin to a school cafeteria or military dining facility quality....healthy, but not savory. I've sampled both the seafood and pasta, and both were average. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is that they automatically add a surcharge of 18% to any dine in order. Personally I like to make that call myself. Our first time here we dined in and the experience was very subpar. They brought my son's food out first and after a while of helping him Crack his crab legs, I went up and asked about the rest of the food. The worker went to the back and brought out a few more items. After a few more minutes the rest of the food came out. The presentation was very lacking for the price.
