Ordered pickup. The restaurant is combined with Hook & Reel which was a little odd for finding the place. Otherwise everything was fantastic! Ordered two kinya bowls with appetizers. Noodles were cooked and cooled so their firmness was preserved once the broth was added at home. Broth was well seasoned with just the right amount of salt (I like my ramen a tad on the salty side). I usually prefer a bit more fat for flavor, but didn't mind the amount here. All the toppings were top notch - fat pieces of narruto, tender and flavorful chashu, crisp bean sprouts and menma, perfect egg. Appetizers were OK. The takoyaki was solid, but buns had too much mayo and only two thin pieces of pork belly. I'd say this ramen is top 3 in SE MI and can't wait to try some of the other broths.

Was not expecting this place to be a part of the Hook and Reel restaurant. The Ramen was fair, I would rate it 5 of 10, 10 being the Best ever. The portions are Big, we couldn't finish our Bowl. We Both chose Chicken for our ramen, but it was very dry and tough. Maybe precooked then added to the broth? Plus the boiled egg in the Ramen was ice cold in the middle? It is a little strange sitting in a Seafood place having Ramen, but the restaurant overall was nice, clean, with 2 sections, 1 for Hook & Reel the other for Kinya. They just sat us on the H&R side. They are Both the Same room. Different Menus. Our service was good as well. Friendly Staff. We prefer this location over the Taylor store. Always looking for a good Ramen.

Just moved here from the Seattle area and have been CRAVING some good Ramen. Saw this shop advertised on Facebook and decided to try it out. Everything was delicious! Pictured are the Kinya ramen and Tonkatsu ramen, with spring rolls and some of the best Takoyaki I’ve had in a restaurant. The broths were very rich and flavorful, all the ingredients were fresh, good sized portions, and the pork cutlets were perfect. It hit the spot.

My husband and I are absolutely done with this Hook & Reel/ Kinya location. We stopped eating off of the Hook and reel menu because the "All you can eat" is a joke when it takes them 45 minutes to bring your next boil, and they stopped putting liquid and seasoning in the bags. This visit we went for ramen. What a mistake. I forget which ramen I had but it was the one with the gold in it, I opted to not get the gold on there but wanted all of the other stuff. Firstly, the broth was oily and tasted off so i wasnt a fan of that. I ordered mine with the pork chashu and the pork was dry, like, dry-dry. I took it out of my bowl and asked the server about it and told her it wasnt good at all. She took it back to the manager to let her know, manager never came out to address the complaint at all, just sent the server out to tell us lies about it. You can tell they cook it and then freeze it and probably microwave it as the texture is a weird chewy dry. The server was trying to tell us they make it fresh daily, there is no way, I've been cooking for 30+ years. Then when we got the bill they charged us $1.50 for each of the little cups of chili paste that were only half full! We have NEVER been charged for condiments and that really cemented in our boycott of this location. This place used to be awesome, we have been coming here since they opened but lately it has been awful. I dont know if there is new ownership or what but the management here is absolutely horrendous. We were loyal customers but we will no longer be wasting our money at this place. We have given this location too many chances as it is and the quality has...

I was really excited to try this place because i love hook and reel, and the food quality there was always good! I love ramen and sushi so i thought i’d give it a try…. it was just beyond disgusting. The service was great and both the ladies who helped us were so kind and supportive…. but the food was absolutely just terrible. It was like mounds of grease and oil. It was so so so greasy and it just tasted like someone poured fryer oil into a bowl and called it a day. The server said that the cook said it’s because there’s bones to make the broth. So is every other soup but they’re not greasy and terrible… He did not strain the fat out he just kept the fat in. Which is common sense, you just take the fat out when the broth settles. So unfortunately the pork and chicken broths were very very gross to me. My dad got the miso ramen and it was also not good. I feel like it needed to be diluted A LOT for it to taste good. It was like the broth was a paste… It was not good. the flavor was fine but the texture was awful. The gyoza was good though. Very disappointed but it’s okay i’ll only be having hook and reel from now on unless they find a chef with some common sense.. REMOVE THE FAT AFTER THE BROTH SETTLES !! first time i couldn’t eat anything in...

First off it's a shared restaurant with hook and reel being there first and you get 2 menus one for either hook or kinya very off putting. They don't make their own noodles, not enough of pork or beef the slices are way too thin. They add gold to the kinya ramen bowl for no reason except up the charge when they can be using that little bit of money saver to give more meat in the bowl. The appetizers are tasty but not enough of something involved with the food. Ex. The takoyaki although good had barely any octopus and was chewy. The buns had almost no meat but we're tasty. They don't have ice cream even though it's on the dessert menu. I am able to make a bowl of ramen using flank steak and 2 different instant ramen bowls one being spicy. I can make 2 or 3 portions at home for the same cost as one bowl here so will not be coming back. (Owner replied saying to email about the problem sent 2 emails over a a few weeks so lowered rating...
