Side Street Bakery — Restaurant in Southport

Extremely disappointed with Red Velvet birthday cake. Ordered for special occasion. We cut into cake the evening after picking it up mid-afternoon. It was very dry, like it had been made a week before and frozen. Frosting was ok but the decorating looked like something from a youngster. Given the very expensive price for a small cake, it certainly did not reflect my expectations nor the comments that have been posted on this site. Lesson learned - will...

Love this place! I first found side street bakery with a google search. I ordered a Lemon Meringue Pie as it is my father's favorite. Was he ever overjoyed! He said the meringue was SO HIGH. He really loved it and it was nice to be able to send something when we can't go see him right now. I ordered 3 dozen cupcakes for an event- all carrot cake. They were such a huge hit! It seemed as if every person who had one came up to ask me where they were from! Christine is so wonderful to work with- I had even asked her if it was possible to have the icing be a silver/grey color (I placed the cupcakes in a design) and boy did she deliver!
