Zao Asian Cafe — Restaurant in Spanish Fork

I’m a huge fan of Zao’s and have been a loyal customer for a long time—I go very often and usually leave happy. But lately, I’ve noticed a frustrating pattern. When I go in with my husband, the portions are generous and service is great. However, when I go alone, the treatment feels noticeably different.

Today was especially disappointing. I received maybe four small pieces of steak and barely any toppings. I asked kindly for just a bit more sauce since they had given me less than half a scoop, and was told I’d be charged extra. I ended up paying over $5 more just to get the same amount I normally receive when my husband is with me.

It’s disheartening to feel like I’m not being treated equally or fairly. I really love Zao’s and want to continue coming back, but experiences like this make it hard to justify. I hope management takes this kind of feedback seriously—consistency and respect should never depend on who...

This location has the luxury of a drive through, however, I waited for my order for quite a while. You could see the inside counter and cash register. Someone came up to the counter ordered and got their food after I placed my order. They made my order after the inside customer left the counter. There were three workers that I could see working inside I'm not sure how they divide up responsibilities. Consumers: using this information maybe going into the resteruant might be faster or the inside customers are the priority over drive through. Tried a bowl with yakisoba. The green curry sauce was my favorite. Happy they had Sriracha available because it wasn't really spicy, but the flavor was awesome. Loved the fresh veg. My kids loved it, too. I enjoyed how fresh everything was.

We loved the different drinks. The watermelon fresca was awesome and also enjoyed the passionfruit.

Service was fast & friendly. My only suggestion is having employees ask if it is someone's first time there. It was our very first visit to Zao and it would have been awesome to know how it all worked prior to ordering. It would also be good to tell people that the...
