Went here yesterday, ordered three sandwiches two chips, and two drinks. After tipping approximately $5, my total was $55. I get that prices have gone up.... but then one should expect a quality experience.
The place was filthy. Came in, stood for approximately four minutes, then finally two young men emerged from the back room, chewing food. A minute or so later, two young women emerged. So, four employees there but customers still have to wait.
Behind the counter in the middle of their prep area, there were two overflowing garbage bins. There was also trash strewn on the floor that the workers just kept kicking out of the way.
The young man who took my order was polite enough, but asked if I wanted a bag for my drinks and chips and I responded yes, that was the last I saw of him.
The two girls made my sandwiches. One of the sandwiches was for someone not there and they subsequently sent a text that they did indeed want lettuce. When I inquired if it was too late, the one girl closest to me rolled her eyes.
When they completed my order (I was the only customer in the store) they yelled it out from the other end of the counter. I walked over, saw it. And again asked for a bag. I wasn't going to carry out three sandwiches two chips, and two drinks in my hand.
When I arrived at my destination and my group sat down to eat, we were thoroughly disappointed.
On my veggie sandwich I asked for onions and a little mustard - all reflected on my receipt. Needless to say, they were NOT on my sandwich.
Additionally, the other two sandwiches were drenched in oil on the outside of the bread. Not to mention, they were both the long type subs, they were not cut at all. Imagine trying to eat a 16 inch sandwich without having it cut in half.
Absurd. Truly poor customer service and lack of care preparing the order. Inside a...
Read more$30 for 2 sandwiches is aggressive especially since I put my own cheese on mine because its an extra $1 for a slice. But besides the point.
My biggest complaint and the one that is causing me to leave such a bad rating is that there were 5-6 people (not a single one looked over the age of 20) standing behind the counter and they said nothing. Nothing to customers and nothing to each other. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was miserable. I was asked if I was helped yet (after a couple minutes of standing there) and that's it. Even after I said "No, but I have a pickup order", nothing was said to me again. They weren't rude just absolutely miserable. I have worked my fair share of customer service jobs and I cant imagine standing there for a 8 hour shift and not talk to anyone. Talking with your coworkers, joking around, is what makes a 8 hour shift in a customer service job bearable. Greeting customers would be nice too. Please and thank yous and your welcomes. Words. Anything. You don't have to love or even like your job but make the best of it. They're all in the same-ish age group, you cant tell me they cant find a single thing to talk about. Ask customers how their days going (start a conversation). Or some music and sing a...
Read moreI work in retail and understand the labor shortage, but I don’t understand horrible customer service. Trying to go to this store on my lunch break, I pulled up to the drive through speaker and was told someone would be right with me. As I sat there for 3, 4, 5 minutes, I observed two Jimmy John employees taking the trash out. They were laughing and kicking the bags around, talking to each other. I politely asked if there was anyone to take my order as I had now been sitting at the speaker for 7 minutes. “When we get back in!” The employee snapped at me rudely as he turned his back on me to continue to talk to his coworker. 10 minutes after pulling up to the speaker, the two employees were still outside talking. I drove away and won’t be coming back. Good thing Jersey Mikes is in the same complex with great service. In less than 10 minutes I had sandwich in hand and headed...
